Are you cutting that lip or just bolt on flares? I'm just looking at how much travel you have based on my aging eyes and that pic
I’m going to bolt the flares to the car, but also cutting the fender. I don’t need to cut the whole fender wheel well, just enough to allow me to lower the car more and turn my oversized wheels without rubbing, and lastly the flare bolts on and covers the missing metal fender area. Will need to cut some of the front bumper too. I won’t cut the chin spoiler.

I forgot that thing was on bags. The pic with tiny gap I thought was fixed with coil/strut. Makes more sense now.

I haven't seen this thread in a while and WOW, what you have done is amazing! Ingenious placement for the new turbos. Can you go with a bigger turbo if needed?

Can't wait to see how the wheel flares turn out.

It's nice to be the foundation of one's inspiration(s). Me for you (as you stated). Then in turn, you for so many others (myself included).

Would be cool for those occasions when we are able to meet up at a show event here or there across the country (when our respective builds have each been completed) to display together.

We can make the theme of our display as your car being Darth Vader, and mine, the Storm Trooper.

I can envision it.

Intercooler is mounted. Ben and I took a step back and redid the fingers to get the turbos into the acceptable range of 0-15 degrees from vertical. Originally we had them at 33 degrees and the oil inlet/outlet sideways. So I took the gloves off……and I went through every possible orientation I could and found I was able to spin the compressor housing 360 degrees from the core as well as the hot side from the core. I even swapped compressor covers, then learned that would definitely not work lol! So the turbos are now at 12.5 degrees within range and oil inlet/outlet completely vertical like it should be! Holding the IC to the custom crash bar are 3 collars that Ben found and recommended I buy. He knows all the cool stuff to get. 20A8ED2D B294 4464 8AC3 43A4A6903620

So we angled the IC for space and also airflow. The collars made that easy peasy and Ben grabbed some thick aluminum bar and welded the bar to the IC and the collar. The inlet pipes will only be 10” long and 4” of that is all silicone couplers. I didn’t want to weld to the turbo in case I want to upgrade and sell them. So we’re using silicone couplers on the IC and turbos. Looks great Andrew. How did you route the oil return lines coming from the turbos? Do they connect to one via a coupling then enter the engine? Or are they run separately?

Haven’t gotten that far yet. Was thinking to reuse all OEM oil and coolant line ports on the engine with scavenger pumps creating a vacuum and sending oil back.

Ok so I’m ditching the internal wastegate turbine housings bc the wastegates sit against the bumper. The wastgate brackets limit the adjustments of the turbo and I’ve literally tried every possible combination. At best they are against it, at worst I’d have to cut an opening…just to let the wastage come out? Not doing that.

I purchased both turbine housings without the internal wastegates and the housings are actually not as wide, which will bring the exhaust father away from the tires, also no bracket in the way of the bumper. 5EF143B6 76A8 4A50 904B 977DF6FE5A78. I bought twin TIAL 44 mm external wastagates in purple. 1E555CD9 180A 405E B563 9689515812EE. These can just 90 off the turbine inlet and we’ll merge its exit back into the turbine outlet that’s already headed out. Why make separate runs of wastgate piping?

The XL _Clinched_ flares arrived and I was happy to find that having a larger radius wasn’t the only thing different, the mold for the bolts have less of a profile on the back and they sit flat on a slight curve. That’s big and I can’t wait to get these things on. The other ones had the smaller radius but the mold for the bolts was very proud, not allowing hardly any curve, it’s like it would need to go against something completely vertical to look right with no gaps.

Tonight while we wait for the turbine housings we’re going to start the IC piping.
