4.0L Question, Kirk any ideas?

I've been investigation the Jag. 4.0L option. After looking as the engine specs it is indeed a bored 3.2 from Ford with Jag heads and throttle body(drive by wire). It remains the same external dimentions as our own 3.2L

So the question that I'm posing is: Would a engine swap be possible?

If it is, who would try it?

How much would you be willing to spend to get 290hp out of a stock engine?

The V8 SHO's have a 3.4 not a 3.2. Unless you're saying that the 4.0 Jag uses a base 3.2 like the V6 SHO?

What year Jag and what model are you planning to canibalize? From what I know, the late model 4.0 Jag is the same platform and powerplant as the 2000-2002 LS.

The mounting points are likely incompatable between the cars, and even if it would drop in, you're talking about puting a motor designed for RWD into a front driver. Chances are slim you'd get a tranny to mate up.b You'd be better off to punch and piston a 3.4 SHO into a 4.0.

You got a line on a 4.0L jag motor?

Sorry the 3.2 was a typo!

Anyway I figured it would take a Bore .15 over and and additional stroke of .26 over to get 4.0 liter. The boring wouldn't be a problem but to increase a stroke of .26 is a major issue. I would need to consult some engine professionals about that. I wonder what the Jaguar heads look like upclose, they couldn't possibly bolt on. I'm trying to get some cad files of the ford 4.0 block to compare it with the 3.4.

Someone already figured out the numbers for borin' out a 3.4 to 4.0, and even 5.0. Check V8SHO.com.

Scarey numbers.. but who wants to sacrifice an already rare engine for the chance?

the 4.0 in the jag is a jaguar design. and to top it off, the 4.0 in the jag is a 90-degree V, where as the 3.4 in our ticking time bombs is a 60-degree V. since they're based off the same block, you might be able to work one of our engines into a 5-speed 3.0 LS. re-work the shoddy shifter linkage and give the car some motivation.
