i'm a newbie on this site so please bear with me on this. i did search first and have some info to start on. i have the opportunity to pickup a 93 SHO (3.2) cheap, trannie's dead. i want to use this as a swap candidate. i have always been impressed by the SHO's. i wish to place a t-5 behind it (unless there is a more suitable candidate for rear drive). this is what i've found is required so far:
- 3.0 clutch & flywheel (SHO only? ranger/b II work also?)
- 3.0 aerostar bell(manual only?,can auto bell be modified if necessary?)
-will 2.8 bronco II bell work, they are reputed to be same as 3.0?
- adapter plate-make or use adv. adapters plate for 2.8 bronco II
what else needs to be addressed here? i do have experience doing something on this level. i did my own t-5 conversion to a 170 inline six for my 64 ranchero before i had access to these forums. i have two possible recipients for this motor; one would see hard offroad use, so durability is an issue. i came here because if anyone knows, it will be here.:hail:

Offroadsho should be able to help you as I think the make an adapter that mates the sho engine to a t-5

I don't think anyone has looked into the Bronco II bellhousing. If you do find the answer, please post it here. Having another bellhousing option would be great!

I have a feeling you might find that the bellhousing on the Bronco cannot be removed from its transmission.

The Ranger 3.0 transmission can bolt-up to the SHO engine as well. It is a 1 piece trans/bellhousing though, so if you're set on the T-5, that option won't work.

The Ranger trans (M5OD-R1) has the shifter in a different position from what the T-5 has, so it may work better or worse, depending on what your application is. The M5OD-R1 should be plenty strong unless you are doing serious boost (Ranger guys put 350+ lb-ft into them w/o problems) but they don't shift nearly as well as the T-5. iirc, there is some clutch adapting that is required to make any of the manuals fit.

advanced adapters has been selling a t-5 adapter for the 2.8 bronco II for over 20 years. i will be investigating this. i believe the clutch actuation is external, which would favor my app.
