I have a lift as well, but I prefer coming out the top. It is WAY easier, and saves about 4 hours, broken subframe bolts, etc. Just my opinion. I've done plenty of engine swaps in these to know what I'm talkin about.

damn son you save 4 hours just by taking it out the top instead of the bottom in the overall time to pull the engine?

sure glad it takes me less then 4 hours to take my whole subframe/engine assembly out the bottom....... I think I did it in just under 3 hours, from like 6-8:30 at night....... thats just me working by myself as fast as I can go constantly working like a dog.....

broken bolts FTL.... south florida cars FTW

I also prefer to take it out the bottom. I also have a lift in my garage.

If you don't have a lift? I think it would be a real pain to get the car high enough to go out the bottom. Of course, I've always been a rear wheel drive guy so I have no experience w/taking an engine out the bottom....

i think so too cause the engine is pretty high, depends on what you put the subframe on... in my case I originally dropped it on jackstands, so that kept it a good foot off the ground and I had to raise the car that much more.........

I couldn't imagine doing it that way without a lift, sure you could do it....... but would you really want to...
