I have a 92 that came with a new set of tires size 225/60/16 and I would not have chosen that size , but they do not rub on the 92 . so I was going to swap the rims and tire on my wifes 93 and they rub .why would they rub on her gen 2 and not on mine ? is there any way of adjusting so they wont rub on the spring perch?

Is the back "sagging"?
If the perch is sagging, he has bigger problems than tire rub.....

As for the question, I don't think there is a way to adjust without re-design.

I put 225/60/16 on the front of my atx just for a temp. fix. and they rubbed on the spring guard. I also had brand new struts put in the car a week or 2 before.

I know that this is not a tire size that is recommended on the sho but it seems odd that it works on one and not the other.and the struts are in pretty decent condition with no sagging .I am not in the financial position to buy a new set of tires and I had this new set that I was not using and just needed them to work in the worst way .I guess I will pull them off and put the crap ones back on .

I've had 225/60/16's on both of my Gen II SHOs and never had any rubbing issues, even with the back sagging from having a lot of the weight in the car.
Interesting...

I had a set on my GEN 1 without any rubbing either. I think that some struts are shaped differently and that may be the root cause of the rubbing problem.

The 92 rear brakes (vented) have a slightly different offset vs the 93-95 rear solid brakes. A given wheel will be closer to the body on the 93-95 rear brakes.

I had that size on my '93. No rubbing, but it's not recommended with a 6" rim. The sidewall ends up being bell-shaped rather than perpendicular to the tread. It makes for some weird handling and wear if you push it hard. YMMV.

One of the reasons that tires rub on some cars and not others is that some tires are wider than others, even if they're listed as the same size.. I've known several people who had rubbing issues with 225s, and plenty of people who haven't.
