Hello! 2018 Taurus SHO with 58k miles - issue with switching from 3rd to 4th gear - i believe it is the torque converter. Any suggestions?

Diagnostics show codes for transmission issues. Was told that transmission needs to be rebuilt.welcome. mileage and engine/transmission maintenance history?
are rpms fluctuating at steady load? that is the classic symptom of TC issues.
usually 3-4 gear changes are not TC related. but they could be sensor related - tss, oss, range, or could have a fault in the solenoid body assembly.
I will take the vehicle to the dealer early on a weekday for a diagnostic check. The car drives fine except for the switch up from 3rd to 4th - one can feel almost no trouble however when using the pddle shifters. No skip. The rpm flutters only on automatic transmission but not while using the pddle shifters on S.if you do not have a code reader, you should get one for yourself so you can keep an eye on things anytime anywhere.
there are a FEW cases in which the transmission needs to be rebuilt. but seeing the vintage and assuming the car has not been regularly leadfooted, the fix should be something simpler. check the fluid. generally if it is at a proper level and in good condition (not black or burnt, no grit), the transmission is in good condition.
if you believe it is the torque converter, do you get rpm flutter while coasting in overdrive? would not hurt to try lubegard shudder fixx - 1-2 tubes - if fluid is in good health.
I don’t have any codes. I took it to a non-Ford garage for diagnostics because the dealer wanted me to leave the car at the dealer for a week in order for it to get a diagnostic. However another dealer asked me to take it to dealer during weekday real early in the morning to get it done.Helps to give all the information possible?
Please post the actual codes and then erase them and see what comes back.
As posted above you my NOT need a rebuild yet.
