I recently purchased a new 2014 Ford Taurus SHO (I'm thinking about making a separate post on here with pictures of it) and I was hoping to be able to tap into the power of the auto-dimming rearview mirror to power my radar detector. However, the connections are located behind the cover that I assume houses the rain sensor. I have no idea how to remove it. Any ideas, or advice from someone that has done it on their Taurus or other late model Ford would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have a moon roof? That's what I would suggest you tap off of. If not, then the map lights and just turn the radar on when you need it and off when you get out of the car.

Sorry I'm not sure I follow you... I take out the sunglass holder and then what?
Take out the whole sunglass holder / map light / moonroof switch unit and you'll see plenty of wires to tap to 
just tap into the moon roof wires and the detector will turn on when the vehicle turns on and off when it's off. Definitely ideal.

Thanks, but that seems way too easy! I'm always afraid to force interior parts, unless I know they snap out like that.
