2013 lincoln mks ecoboost code p0087

Ii have a 2013 lincoln mks ecoboost. im told it mechanically identical to a sho. its throwing a check engine light. the code it p0087 low fuel rail. it dose not seem to be running rough. whats going on with it

Must be one of the lucky ones then, with that code! Usually that means the low pressure fuel pump/fuel pump control module and/or the high pressure fuel pump is having issues. Maybe it was enough to set the light but not enough yet to cause a problem. When it does become a problem, you may find yourself stranded anywhere, so best to have it looked at right away.

There IS a recall on some SHOs & MKS's for the LPFP and/or Control Module, so you should check your VIN on this site to see if your MKS is included:

Even if it isn't you should have the dealership check it.

It dose show my car has any open recalls or field service alerts other then an update to the sync system

Have the dealership check the fuel pumps and control module anyway. What is the build date for your MKS?

The fuel pump was replaced under recall before i bot it i was told

Cleared the code yesterday. drove around till all the monitors reset and the code has not come back. going to try warm starts all day to try and make it come back on. if not i guess im good

Same code had ford recall fuel pump module, car runs better now then ever, smoother, quicker, quieter....
