yeah i just noticed that too. Not sure why though, I'd think Kona Blue, Candy Red, and Tuxedo Black would be the three most popular choices for the appearance package.

I was building a new Volvo S60 (which the T6 AWD model starts at 37,770 - that sounds pretty close to the SHO!) and saw they have a new Ember Black color for the S60 and S80 T6's. I really like that color too, but I kinda miss their Oyster Grey Metallic.

The color I miss most on new FML models is straight, plain-Jane Black. Ford is replacing regular black (paint code UA) with Tuxedo Black, which has the flakes of real glass in it, across their entire model range. Don't get me wrong, Tuxedo Black is a pretty cool color, but nothing can touch straight black as being just plain BA. Plus it's easier to repair without having to match the amount of flake in it.

It's the same Bordeaux Reserve Red that's available on the 2011 Edge and Lincoln MKZ as well, which depicts the color a little bit better on the new Edge's mini-site because it's more photo-realistic than that photoshopped job. http://www.fordvehicles.com/crossovers/edge/2011/[/QUOTE]

Thanks Josh. That's a lot better. Too bad the Bordeaux Reserve Red wasn't available when they first came out. Out of curiosity, do you know what date they began regular production on the '10 SHO? Mine was built on 8/26 and I figure that was pretty close.

I agree, there's nothing like the classiness of straight black. My BA BULLITT has one of the best factory paint jobs I've ever seen and would love to have that on my SHO. Tuxedo Black is cool, but kind of a novelty.

I don't know for sure, but that is def pretty close. I know it was mid to late August 2009.

FYI, I just found out that Bordeaux Reserve Red isn't going to be available on the SHO, and only available on all other Taurus trims. I'm not sure why not. The only thing I can think of is the take rate on Cinnamon colored SHO's was so low that they couldn't justify the business case to offer a similar color for 2011.

I also forgot to mention that the 2011 Flex is also getting Kona Blue (replacing Steel Blue), Bordeaux Reserve Red (replacing Cinnamon) and 2 new colors called "Earth", which as you can imagine is a brownish-greenish color, and Mediterranean Blue, which is an aqua-tealish color that I'm not too fond of. Lastly, there's a new Titanium package which is essentially a Flex Sport trim, with blacked out everything, 5 spoke wheels and Alcantara suede trimmed seats.

Boo at Ford - Cinnamon and Atlantis Green were my two favorite colors :banghd: I'm so tired of looking at a sea of silver / gray / black / white cars on the road. I do like the new blue though...

Not that it matters, I'm not about to trade mine in for a color change. But I fail to see what's the expense of offering Bordeaux Reserve Red on the SHO? Back in the late 60s and early 70s, you could get any color you want for $90. That's $506 in today's dollars, the cost of the White Triple Coat Platinum. Gotta love those bean counters.

The Bordeaux Reserve Red looks like it would be a great SHO color. They shouldn't have let the numbers of the Cinnamon influence them as it was a real peculiar color. I'm not surprised it didn't sell well. I got the Atlantis Green and would have considered the Bordeaux Reserve Red if it was available for 2010.

I am the person who checks new vehicles arriving from Ford. We look for damage or any missing items that should be with the car (antenna, mats, keycode card etc). Today we had the first 2011 Taurus SHO arrive and not only that but it was the sexy Kona Blue Metallic!

I knew you guys would love to see it so i snapped some pictures!

Hi JR:

After a couple of glasses of wine on a Friday night, I logged in here and looked at your lovely photos.

Then I looked at the "Sticker" price and gagged. I have more or less the same car less the cruise/rear camera and it was $10K less.

You may want to warn us that you are from the great country of Canada and any prices you quote or show are in Canadian Dollars.

EH..

For what it's worth, and nothing to do with this Forum, I had the great pleasure to live in your country for about 18 months in the 1979-1980 period when I was Director of Parts and Accessories for Volvo Canada.

We had a home and 25 acres in Queensville, north of Ontario, and lived the true Canadian life. Coming off of 2 year tours in Sweden and Peru, it was perhaps the best expat experience anyone could have asked for.

Wife Pat always says that of the five countries I/she have lived in, Canada would be the one she would choose to live in after the US and maybe in some respects a bit ahead of our homeland.

Cheers

Bill

Still wish the blue was a little bit lighter. A good looking color, though.

Just too bad they decided not to produce it in Bordeaux...

I love Kona blue. Looking at those pictures, I'm reminded of the Ford Interceptor concept.

I've seen bordeaux on a focus, i believe. It was at Ford HQ Canada in the lobby. It's a nice looking colour but i wouldnt want it on an SHO.

Bordeaux looks better on the Taurus than the Kona Blue.

I dont see the bordeux as an SHO type of colour. Same goes with the goldleaf. I'm not a huge fan of the goldleaf period....unless it's on an MKX with the 22 inch sport edge rims.

Bill, I'm only 15' from the Canadian border. It really is a fine place. First thing you notice, it's a lot cleaner.

JR, I almost fell off my chair when I looked at that window sticker. I was thinking, boy I'm glad I bought a '10. Then I noticed some of it in French.

I would have loved to have gotten the White Platinum Tri Coat with the Light Stone interior, but Charcoal Black was the only available interior color. I am also fond of darker colors. The Cinnamon looks really good, but only in bright sunlight. It looks brown in subdued light, I didn't like it. Atlantis Green, same thing. It looks like British Racing Green in subdued light which isn't bad. I got Tuxedo Black by process of elimination. The crushed glass I think is a novelty. It's pretty neat, but in the long run, there's nothing like a good straight black. My BULLITT has the best factory paint I've ever seen. After nine years, I am still amazed how good it looks all polished up. If that was on my SHO, I'd be a little more excited about having chosen black. Kona blue keeps looking darker and darker. A buddy of mine, a salesman at my dealer, stopped over the other day with an '11 GT in Kona Blue. The SHO would look better with a gray interior in that color. I was pretty disappointed that Bordeaux Reserve Red isn't offered on the SHO. I believe I saw that color on an Edge, the SHO would look good in that with a black interior. I saw Gold Leaf in the showroom yesterday, it looked like silver.
