Hi everyone,

Went for a test drive yesterday. 2011 SHO. From a complete stop, held down brake, floored it for about 2 seconds and let off. Launched like I felt it should, but about 3 seconds in to the run it abruptly reduced power, shifted hard, and stopped behaving.

I let off the gas, coasted a bit, then put my foot back in to it - felt like no boost. Pulled over, shut off and restarted car, all good once again.

During this herky-jerky incident, there were ZERO warning lights. Had dealer scan the car, no stored codes.

Fuel was very low in car. Do you think this could be just that it pulled away from the fuel pickup and I got an air bubble in the fuel system, or is what I'm describing something that is common and due to a known issue, such as intercooler issues or engine control computer flashes being required?

I reeeeeeeeally like the car. The fact it didn't store any codes and it behaved fine after a "reboot" makes me think it's nothing to worry about.

Thoughts?

Could be the brake override getting fooled. Ford (unlike Toyota) will **** power if the brake and gas are held together after a certain period of time.

Just a heads up - when the mags were testing the SHO they found brake torque starts did nothing to help the 1/4 or 0-60 times stock. The turbos on these are producing boost by 1500 RPM (and IIRC stall speed is 2k) so there is no reason to build boost.

They also found letting the tranny do its thing vs the paddle shifters made the best 0-60 and 1/4 mile runs.

I love my SHO - 75k and no major issues.

Congrats on your SHO! Don't let the fuel level get too low. Not worth risking damage to the pump, which should ideally remain submerged at all times.

I've romped on it even more in the past few days - this car is solid, I did something with that launch that ****** it off is all.
