The 2004 SHO International Convention information is on the SHOclub.com web site for everyone to view/print and send in!

San Francisco SHOdown 2004, July 12-15, will be a great time on the left coast. Check it out at:

SHO Convention information 2004

Be sure to hit RELOAD or REFRESH if you have visited recently.

We have posted the Registration form, Please print out, fill out and mail or FAX ASAP.

We also have posted the Thunderhill drivers information plus the very important DRIVERS FORM. there are links on the page above for these forms.

The very successful NOVICE class will be included again this year!

Please get your forms in as soon as possible. If you are on the fence, please send in a form anyway. WE can hold checks/processing credit cards for a reasonable time if you request it like we have in the past. But by getting your forms in now, we can make plans and get car numbers assigned.

Thanks for your support in the past. George and company at BAYSHO and the other Left coast SHO folk are putting together a great event you won't want to miss. The caravan out west for those on the Right coast and inbetween should also be fun.

We are looking for a CARAVAN MASTER to help organize the caravans. If you would like to volunteer, please get in touch with George Fourchy mailto:[email protected][email protected]</a> or myself.

See you in California!

I think I will probably make it. :D

Don, whats the policy on an Ex-sho owner with a Honda? I'd like to tag along at the track. If this is permissible, what happens if I run in novice and discover I really should be running in a higher group (wishful thinking, but it never hurts to ask).

Thanks.
Oz

Don,

I will be bringing "The Other Woman" in a trailer and won't be doing any track or strip events. Do I still need to register?

Does the $55 for the convention itself include the drag racing/auto crossing in sacramento?
I should be there if my car is running and I can tow it out there behind the truck... If I can't make it, it would be so *** and I would be  and probably going headbang . But if I can I hope I will be going burnout burnout !!!

Let me see if I can answer everyones questions.

Also if you have a question you need answered right away, don't hesitate to call 1-309-444-8570 I am at that number every morning (except 2-7) during the week, and most afternoons. or email me directly:
mailto:[email protected][email protected]</a>

As for questions:
OZ, we welcome ex-sho owners, and have always accepted non-SHO's as long as there is some connection. We really do not want to encourage a lot of non-sho's, but for people that are friends, we don't want to cut off the connection just because you sold your SHO.

Also, if you start in Novice and it is clear you would be happier elsewhere, then contact the event coordinator (might not be me) and chances are you can move up. On the other hand, we do reserve the right to move people down a class too, but we don't do that often. Safety is the first consideration, and if we pay attention to that, the fun will follow naturally!

Tom, To participate in most of the non-paying events, we do require that you register. The fee covers things like printing, trophies ($5 per car doesn't come close to covering trophy cost for the SHOw) room rental, and a lot of other things. Of course you can come and just hang out without paying a fee. We have let people display cars in the SHOw without paying a fee if that is all they can do, and they have an interesting car. But to be part of things like the reception, tech talk, get the package with driving instructions etc, we do ask that you register and help cover the convention costs. We aim to have every convention break even. Any extra stays in the account to cover possible losses (several conventions have lost money) or upgrade the next one without raising prices.

91Taurisho: The registration fee covers the no-charge events on the form. Right now we do not have an official drag event because the tracks there are pretty greedy, about four times the cost of most tracks we have rented. Per car cost would have been near $100 to do the drags, and at that cost, the response would have been low enough that we could have gone thousands into the hole anyway!

There are regular Wednesday night drags at two tracks in the area that people can attend, but we are not planning on doing any of them as a group. WE willdo the Thunderhill track that day, and even if you just watch, you get to tour the track at noon for free, and that is worth a lot. We will eat dinner as a group on the way back. If you want to drag race though, feel free to break away from Thunderhill early and go to the tracks. There will be info about them in the packets.

Also, we have no autocross scheduled now, there is a slight chance we might try to do something in conjuction with Thunderhill, but we are still checking on insurance and enough people to do it. For now, Thunderhill is a full day itself, and the only "driving" track event we plan. WE have had conventions without drags before, and lived. Hope that doesn't bum anyone out, we will all still have a great time, and fill the week with fun events.

Feel free to write me directly with other questions, and I will try to check in here as often as possible.

See you in San Fran! Be sure to get your reg forms in ASAP. You can cancel, or we can hold your check for a short period if you want.

Chris,

If you left me a message to call you back, and I did not, then please call me again.

I got a message from someone and the sound quality (must have been the phone line) was bad, but if it was you, I only got 7 numbers, and need 10 to make the call!

Thanks for the support and call again if you need to talk.

Don,
AutobahnSHO1130 (Chris) and I will be driving to the convention in Chris' SHO. He already filled out a registration form including our names and event choices.

Do you still need me to fill out a form with my name also? Or is his single form with both our information good enough?
