ok, here we go.

#1, under light to medium left hand turning, I would get a sort of humming or rubbing noise from the right rear on my '97. not sure what may have been causing it, but the other day while chasing a bmw around a long left hand bend, at around 60, it became constant, and pronounced. i heard it over the radio. but just minutes later pulling into a gas station near where i live, i had to make a sharp left at around 10 to 15 mph, got it there too. any ideas?

#2, the LSSHOC is having a fun run through some of the hill country in the bandera area in the beginning of Nov. i was wondering if anything would be hurt if i pulled the third cat and flex-pipe and dumped from the y-pipe just for the weekend. i saw the hanger's just after the third cat today, (at Sergio's while it was on the lift, checking to see if the suspension was in order under there) so i figure everthing behind that will be supported while it's disconnected.

as usual, thank you in advance. i usually forget to respond to your answers and thank everyone.

The humming might be a bearing going bad.

If you dump from the Y pipe, you will go deaf in an hour and you will also be at the back of the pack due to extream power loss. I drove back and forth to work one day with the y pipe disconnected. I bet you lose 20 hp.

well, on the run we WILL be in the upper rev band 95% of the time. this event is all about having fun, and in order to do so, you must let her rip. as for going deaf, i've been to a tool concert recently, and i was in the pit recently at work when a friend of mine (supposedly) started up my '90 while i was ispecting the exhaust donut. (i.e. the y-pipe was disconnected.) no problems yet, but thanks for the fair warning. but thanks for the input. i hope it isn't the bearing. it looked like something might be rubbing on the strut, but judging from where the mark is i'm not too sure.
