I'm always fascinated when Gen III for sale listing don't mention the status of the cams. How can you go thru the trouble of listing it on BAT and not understand what you're selling?

That '99 sure is a **** of a lot cleaner example than mine, and I paid $3500 for mine in 2016 (private party)!

Yeah it has me thinking against my better judgement. I'd like to see more underside pics since it's in BC.

I read the description. The car does not come with a title since BC is a Province that doesn't issue titles. I am not sure how that will work in Ohio.

Funny I was thinking about both cars yesterday. Logical brain had to kick in and say can't trust the tranny over 150k tr anny rebuilds are spotty at best from fuzzy memory. That was the deal breaker in getting rid of my last one. The damn engine was healthy as a horse.

Right? I just want one as a weekend cruiser. No daily duties for it.

Doesn't Doug Lewis offer a really beefed up rebuild of the stock tranny called a Road Ripper or something like that? I was seriously looking at buying one, but couldn't get any shop to install it here in Palm Springs, CA. I ended up just getting a "beefier" tranny rebuild from a local tranny shop owner who gave me a 3 yr warranty, only to die from MRSA infection about 6 months after the install. So much for the warranty.

And silver! You could have matchies! Do it do it, SHO, do it.
Hahah I know. I have four silver cars right now. A fifth would be interesting......

I still need to sell the Focus and Lexus. If I were to buy a clean one like this, I would need the extra garage space which I don't have right now.

However, if it sells for under 5K will probably kick myself in the ass for a long time. lol.

Don't plan on it any time soon. The story behind my 97 is a pretty good one. It is the very first SHO that I ever bought. I bought it back in 2005 and I sold it in late 2006. At the time I wasn't into SHOs at all. I had Foxbodies and Saabs. I sold it on ebay to a guy in the Army stationed over in Germany. He and I talked about it several times over the phone before he pulled the trigger. Over the course of the sale and afterwards he and I became fast friends and he's the one that talked me into buying my first V6 SHO. He told me that I would sell all my Mustangs and Saabs if I bought a V6 SHO. He wasn't wrong... Lol! This 97 was picked up by his dad and brought straight to FPS in Atlanta to have the cams welded and then it was shipped to Germany. He has pictures of this car in all parts of Europe. He drove it everywhere. Fast forward 17 years (2023) and he and I are still friends. He is now retired from the military and has a nice car collection and he's thinking about thinning the herd. He gives me a call early last year and tells me his plans and says that he wants to give me first refusal on buying back my first SHO. Without hesitation I told him yes. I picked it up in June of last year and did some things to it to make it mine(wheels, hood, exhaust,...) and it's been my daily ever since. Interior is near mint and it drives perfect. This 97 is the only V8 SHO that I've ever owned and I've owned it twice.

It is always the best when they come back to you. That is awesome, and it is beautiful.

What the import regs on a Canadian Car? I know it is a 99 so it should be good with the 25 year stuff right? Wonder what hoops I would have to jump through if I purchased this.....

The third post from the seller explained US ownership, I imagine you could contact them as well. Do you have a plan to get the cams welded if you pick this car up

I have no idea how I missed that. Seems pretty straight forward. If I were to buy this car, I would get the cams welded just for piece of mind.
