1995 ATX IS SLOW AT START PLEASE HELP

OK MY SHO IS SLOW OFF THE LINE LIKE IT IS NOT TIMED RIGHT. WHEN YOU START IT IT TAKES A WHILE TO FIRE LIKE THE CAM SENSOR IS BAD. THE TEST SAID CODE 172. I AM RUNNING TWO TERMINATOR RACE MUFFLERS AND EVERY THING ELSE IS STOCK. MOTOR HAS 132K ON IT AND OIL IN THE PLUG WELLS WHAT DO YOU THINK IT NEEDS????IT HAS A VERY VERY SMALL MISS. MAFS? TPS? LPM? PLEASE HELP THE CAR RUNS GREAT A HIGH RMPS BUT I CAN'T BREAK THE TIRES AT START! shoot

Well first you gotta get that oil out of the plug wells. 172 is pointing to the O2 sensor for the Rt/aft/bank 1 not operating.

The oil in the plug wells can cause an arc in the plug which is the most common explanation for the symptoms you are experiencing, however that O2 sensor is also a major part of your problem. If it is bad enough to throw a code then it is dead. Replace them in pairs and don't forget to reset the computer.

what is the best way to reset the computer and do I need new plug and wires to see a difference???

How many miles on the car? You probably want new plugs and wires. Don't try to skimp out here... get the Motorcraft parts. Nothing else will work right. Also replace both of the Oxygen sensors. These two fixes should take care of your problem.
