first off welcome.

second as i hate to sound mean and im kinda a noob here....but the search tool is your friend.

but ill help you a little. You could look at the links we have here for aftermarket support for the SHO.

a few DIY's include exhaust, removing the silencer for the air box and dropping at k&n filter in, lower it a little for looks etc.

The first thing you should do is check and make sure the car is fully maintained (meaning whether it has had a full 60k service). Here is a parts list and walk through of both the upper and lower 60k service.

http://www.shophoenixproject.com/lower60k/lower60k.htm
http://www.shophoenixproject.com/upper60k/upper60k.htm

A large majority of the people here do this themselves because it is easy, you know it is done right and most shops will charge you an arm and a leg to do it.

BTW, an MTX SHO is a 5 speed and an ATX is an automatic.

Right now you should drain the tranny fluid and replace the tranny filter. Also add a tranny cooler from www.midwestsho.com All of this will help it to last a lot longer and perform better. You should also change the oil right now, even if they said it was changed, they could be lying - it happened to my friend suppossedly. Deffintly remove the intake silancer cone for louder intake sound and put in a K&N panel filter. For exhaust you can swap out the mufflers for cheap and get a lot more/better sound.

Other than that you should do maintenance first, full 60k and rod bearings are a must!

Removing the silencer cone is a pretty easy and quick mod. Supposedly it adds ~3hp up top, but even if it doesnt it makes the intake sound much meaner :naughty:

Its located in the fender which the intake box is attatched too. To get to it, I removed the LH wheel and wheel well splash guard. Doing this was pretty easier. You should see a plastic box conformed to the shape of the fender in the cavity up by the intake box. Wrestle it out (may take some time and scraped knuckles)
Inside this box is a little cone type thing. remove this and then replace the box (some say to just take the whole thing out, but I feel that this will increase the chance of water getting into the intake which is very bad). And thats it :thumb:
