1993 mtx rod shift.. will any other ford 3.0 tranny fit?Heeelllpppp!!!!!!

i have a 1993 sho... mtx blow a hole threw the case. i need a tranny but they are all over $1200 dollars.. i spoke to a ford tech and he said i might be able to put any 3.0 tranny in there but he's not sure ... some one please heelllppp!!!!!!!!

Use a 3.0 SHO tranny only. A SLO tranny wouldn't last long, assuming you could make it work.

There is usually someone parting cars in the classifieds here. Ebay also usually has a few.

Do a search here: http://car-parts.com I found 4 in Pa under $1000. They're listed under "cable shift" but it doesn't matter because the trannys are the same.

1989 was th efirst year SHO and was an MTX, ATX didn't come out until 1993 wink
