SHODWN
Mother Threasa
I have this listed in the open form as well. I need to make sure people see this. Mods if you have any questions about the double post please contact me. I really need to get this info.
For the longest time we all have been using the KO* numbers as productions numbers for the motors. There was speculation from the V6 list years ago that the motors and the vins all started with 1000,10000,100000 then the production number. Do we have any proof of this?
In the v8 the KOC numbers pretty much match up with production dates.. KOC 003333 would be a 96 as we kind of know how many were made and KOC 24857 would be a late 99. KOA -3.0L and KOB- 3.2L have kind of been the same way. Has anyone seen a Lower number with proof to back it up? Like a pic or something? Does KOC-00001 exist?
Im asking both lists as Tim Wright might have better understanding of all the numbers because of the lawsuit, and for those V8ers that may know their number and have a lower number to prove the 0000 number theory good or bad.
V6 Guys you been around may longer and may know a bit more of the numbering of these step children.
Reason I ask this is; if I think if the numbering thing is right, I have KOB -3.2L 001001 in a 93 ATX built in September of 92. This might be the first production 3.2L that was sold, if you 93 ATX guys could check your build dates Vs the KOB on your rear valve cover facing the drivers side strut. Ive had this car for a year now and thinking of scraping it but need to make sure I’m not throwing something good away.
93 ATX owners, please send me you build date/vin/ KOB# if you could. To: [email protected]
Thanks
