Yeah, they've done a lot to downtown Buffalo over the years. I can actually be proud to say I'm from Buffalo. During the late 60s/early 70s, it was a real $hithole. Chef's restaurant (Italian cuisine) is a great place to eat if you're ever back in town. Pearl Street Grille is good too. Try the potroast there, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

You should be proud, it is first class all the way. The only people with a bad opinion are the ones that have never been there. The roads are wide and not congested. The downtown is easy to get to, and the historic part is renovated properly; there is lots of parking on the streets because there is a parking garage on every block. Money has been spent wisely, even the art-deco town hall is a treat.
Great city, you should run for mayor.

See my "Vacation Destination" thread in the general chit-chat section.

Thanks! Very nice of you to say. Truthfully I hardly go downtown. I see you're from Ontario... you know about the Golden Horseshoe Club in Oakville? I got a buddy there. I plan on going to their show July 26th at Country Heritage Park in Milton.

Every place we went was great, we stayed in West Seneca and were downtown any time of the day in 10 minutes. I missed the Pierce-Arrow museum because you know who did not want to take the time.
Rather than go to Milton, I would just go back to Buffalo, there is lots more to see.
I live in Prescott Ontario, across from Ogdensburg NY (past Lake Ontario) in the land that time forgot.
