I currently have a 2010 SHO and have 18" wheels I use in the winter with Blizzaks. I'm ordering a 2015 and I'd like to get the Performance Package. The issue is I'm not positive that the 18" wheels will clear the calipers. I had a chance to look at an SHO with the bigger rotors, but it was a customer's car at the dealer. It looked like there was at least an inch of clearance. Does anyone have the Performance Package that can measure the clearance between the calipers and the 20" wheel? Or better yet, has anyone tried an 18" wheel with the bigger rotors? I appreciate your time.

Every thing I have read is that the rotor diameter is the same on the pp compared to non pp. The only difference is the pads and the rear rotor is vented. I just got my 15 pp and will want to put winters on as well.

Thanks m. It occurred to me when I read your reply that I could check with parts and see what the replacement rotor size is for the PP. I got the Blizzak LM-25 in 225/60R-18 which has the exact same revolutions per mile as the stock Michelins... per Tire Rack. They're great in the snow, especially with AWD. However, I don't see that tire available anymore there. When I bought my '10, the only difference was the pads like you said. Somewhere along the line I got the impression the PP on the '15 had bigger rotors. I guess I stand corrected.

I went to Fordparts.com and there is only one rotor there for an SHO. It's also used on the police version Taurus. It didn't show anything where they break out a difference between a PP SHO and a non-PP SHO.

I went back to my Build and Price page to check out what's in the PP:
• Upgraded performance brake pads
• Sport-calibrated electric power-assisted steering (EPAS)
• Higher-rated springs, tuned shocks, stiffer stabilizer bars and rear suspension to provide a more connected feel between the driver and the road
• Standard AdvanceTrac® electronic stability control (ESC) features a “Track Mode/True Off” setting that delivers a more spirited driving experience
• 3.16 final drive ratio for off-the-line acceleration
• 20” machined and painted wheels with performance summer tires*
New larger front and rear brake rotors
• Upgraded cooling pack
• Tire mobility kit (in lieu of spare tire)
• Alcantara® suede-wrapped steering wheel
As Spock would say, "Curious."

If that is true, that is a break from the past where PP & non-PP SHOs share the same rotors. Could be a typographical error, best to ask the dealer directly, maybe even have them take off a wheel on a PP on the lot to measure.

SHOdded, the problem is my dealer is the only one in town that has an SHO on the lot and it is a non-PP SHO. My hope is that someone here has a '15 SHO with the PP and could check it out for me. At this point, all I can do is have parts at the dealer call Ford and see what they say. I was even thinking of calling a friend of mine that's a town cop and check out one of their cars, but with the wheels on them, the calipers are all covered up unlike civilian SHO wheels.

The PP SHO and the PI both have the same braking system. The PI comes with 18" wheels, so yes they fit.

jmr, I see you got the PP in your '13 SHO... how's the ride in it? I'm sure it's not as rough as my Mustangs that I did suspension upgrades on, but I'm wondering how much stiffer the ride is as compared to a non-PP SHO.

I think it's fine. I knew what I was buying though. It's a "performance" car and I was used to that anyway. For me it's nothing out of the norm.

Wish I could. Believe it or not, I'm in Buffalo and there's only one SHO in town and it's at my dealer... a non-PP.

Hey, I was just in Buffalo.
Just there for a week at the convention center, but what a great town. Thoroughly enjoyed everything. There are lots of open roads where you can enjoy a SHO.
