I currently have a 14 MKS Ecoboost with the THX stereo. A couple months after I hit a bad hole and really jarred the car and bottomed out my front struts(thankfully nothing blew out). Shortly after however I started to get a lot of static almost (like a loose wire or connection) intermittently and is not affected by volume. Since then it has progressed to fully cutting out except for sound out of the center speaker right above our display. It comes and goes and seems to happen more as I drive or if I turn it past 50% it becomes a constant. Just to make stuff worse the last month the back up camera has been failing to engage or even engage in the wrong gear.

I've hooked it up to my scanner with ForScan and gotten u3003 dtc and have a fault in the ACM and voltage faults in the Instrument panel module. I haven't tore into it to do any voltage test partially cause finding a wiring diagram has been less than fruitful. I've found a few posts here and there about ACM and Module in the trunk can be failure points and that this is fairly common.
I'm hoping its just the ACM that has failed but would like some insight.
If I were to get a salvage ACM would it need programed?
Also would like to upgrade to Sync3 and if its possible to piece together from salvage or if the kits will work with the Lincoln. Generally any links would really be appreciated

p.s. What models and years are interchangeable.

you already have codes, so it is likely the fault is with the acm ... somewhere.

that said, the old standbys are to check grounds and physical connections. i would disconnect the acm, clean and dielectric grease the connections, and reinstall.

if that does not work, a solder joint may have broken loose inside. you can call circuitboardmedics.com to see if they will repair.

else a jy acm would have to be reprogrammed to your vehicle. download config from your current one, install the new one, upload the config to it.

sync3 you can put parts together yourself but wont solve the acm problem.

i like to send people to Mitral Shah over at https://allthingssync.com. he has been solid for us ford edge owners.
