This has been a really, really, REALLY strange week to say the least.

One of the odd things that I experienced this week centered around a "special" delivery I was expecting to arrive from LMS :naughty:

I received notification from Rick that my performance upgrade package / kit had shipped out this week and was due to arrive today.

Rick was kind enough to provide me with the tracking number so I can watch it's progress from their facility, destined to the place where ultimately I will be doing the install.

Well, while I was working my over night shift Thursday into Friday morning, I happened to check the package progress once again (at like 3am) and I saw this message posted to the status page:

FailedShipmentofMethKit.jpg

To say I was beside myself would be an under statement to say the least.

Now I've heard of stuff like this happening before when say like a box gets damaged and SOME of it's enclosed contents are compromised / damaged / missing etc.

But NEVER have I EVER seen anything like the message posted above that reads: "All Merchandise Missing" . I mean really!?!?! WTF is that?? :madflame:

Needless to say UPS is apparently looking into the incident and is allegedly reporting back to Rick / LMS.

I was assured the package was insured, which is fine for both me, as well as for LMS, but just the mere fact that some bum, in what appears on it's surface to be a (felony) theft, has made off like hot cakes with my set up really pusses me off.

Ggggrrrr just irks me to no end I tell ya :banghd:

Just wondering if anyone else ever experienced this, and what ultimately might have been the outcome??

Thanks ahead of time. :thankyou:
Poor you Mike... Maybe it is not a thief but that Methanol is volatile... lol!
Sorry about that and hopefully you can get your kit ASAP!
Please let us know the outcome and the explanation if you get any...
I'd be pussed too like you say!
The worst experience I had with mailing delivery was when my head and tail light covers got stuck at the boarders for about a month because of a strike that Canada Post decided to do... WTF was all I can say, but nothing to do. But all that to say that I know how bad it feels having to wait for something you expect and it gets out of your hand... I had to wait about a month too for my rear pads from EBC to finally learn that they are accumulating their buy orders before starting production!!!
So, I can only imagine for your performance upgrade kit how frustrating it must be!
You will only enjoy it more.
Cheers my friend!
Steve

I hate UPS. Anytime something has been damaged or messed up is always with them. I did get a free set of led puck lights out of them though. I notified the company I bought them from that my set had not arrived. They sent me a new one and filed a claim. They got their money and the original set showed up two weeks later on my door step. I called the company and they told me to keep them as a gift from UPS :)

Regardless I only ship stuff out UPS unless it's an overnight envelope, but that's because my office has an account. I actually just had to ship a photobooth kiosk that cost me $300 via Fedex. UPS was $40 cheaper, but since it was worth $2,200 I wasn't going to risk it.

Wow that sucks Mike! Hopefully just a glitch or something. I think what everyone is missing, that the UPS statement is a generic statement. So hopefully it just got miss sorted or got scanned improperly and will turn up.

I shipped a front strut tower a few years ago. I packaged the brackets in a box with all the hardware, but had nothing to pack the bar itself in. I took it to a shipping center, and they put it in a cardboard tube. Few days later I get an e-mail from the guy saying he recieved the box, but an empty tube.

I wasn't sure which I was more ****** about. The fact that they delivered an empty tube, or that no one saw an almost 3' long piece of steel floating around. The guy I sold it to ended up getting some money from UPS or the shipper, I forget which.

Fedex blows too. I had something delivered, and on the computer it said delivered. I couldn't find it anywhere. I called up Fedex. They said it was delivered. Nothing to be found. Next day he shows up and delivers it. I asked him about it being delivered on the tracking. He goes yea we say that for the computer system, but we deliver it when we want. Another time on the tracking it said delivered. I called and asked where was it delivered to? They said to this address. I said the company 1 mile down the road. She goes I guess. We will straighten it out for you. 2 more days. Another time I had something overnighted first AM. It never shows. I call up. Oh we have weather delays in our hub in Atlanta. I get it next day, too late to use and I ask the driver about Atlanta. He laughs and says the operators are instructed to give that line out when the drivers don't make it on time.

Hmm, I ship a LOT of stuff with UPS, only had a problem one time years and years back. DHL was the best, by far, with the best rates.

FedEx, think I have used them maybe twice in my life. Nothing against em, just never use em. They do not seem to have any presence in my neck of the woods.

Sorry that this happened to you but sometimes both UPS, FedEx, and USPS all make mistakes. And (Mike you should not be surprised by this) almost all of these companies have people that work for them that are not completely honest, so sometimes it takes them a bit to weed out the bad seeds. Only had one bad experience with UPS, years ago I ordered an underwater strobe and it did not come on the delivery date, called the company that I ordered it from they sent another one overnight delivery and I got it in time to take it on a photo trip to Bonaire. However, ended up that the original one was delivered but the delivery guy did not want to leave the package out in bad weather so he had put it in a car that I wasn't driving at the time. Sent that one back, but only experience I've ever had out of the ordinary with any delivery company. So I think they deserve a little slack if this is the first time you've had a problem...besides it will build your anticipation even more so when you do get the stuff, you will enjoy it even more. Good luck hope you get your latest mods without a problem.

I ship a bunch by UPS for my small business. In about 15 years only ever had one package destroyed and returned, UPS paid for it. (edit, I remembered that THAT package was on a train that derailed out west in a huge snow storm, I read about the train wreck and got the e-mail about the package the next day).

Never had a package lost or item missing, but then, I don't ship real expensive or steal-able stuff. Very few people risk going to jail over a can of wax, or a leather wheel cover! :)

I ordered a beautiful Jackson guitar from Musicians Friend online for COD... I lost the money by the time UPS got there and all I had was $50 of the roughly $900... The UPS guy said just give me the $50... If that tells you anything about UPS... well at least that guy. But stuff like that happens, seen it first hand. I only use FEDEX now.

It prolly best for it go back to LMS, that way it can be looked over for missing items or damaged parts. But doesn't help with getting it put on your car, I hate waiting. To bad your not closer LMS customer appreciation day out at the drag strip tomorrow night. Should be a good night for racing with temps in the 60's
