As of today I’ve had my 2010 SHO for three months. Just turned 10,000 miles with no problems so far. I’m in sales, so my car is my office and it has been great in almost every respect. The one thing I just can’t get to work properly is the SYNC system. I have done everything the manual says to get it set up properly and it still sucks. Guess it is just like most Microsoft products. A fix will come later; they just pushed it out the door to get it on the market.

Care to elaborate at all? I think the SYNC is awesome. I have used Honda nav, MB, GM, and Land Rover and the only one that comes close is the Honda, but SYNC still blows it away. Do you have the NAV or that crappy radio thing with the voice controls?

I agree that Sync is awesome. I DID have a problem where the voice prompts became erratic. So I did a reset from the main menu and all is well. Seems to have worked like a reboot. Go figure. It would be good to know what your exact complaints are so we can offer suggestions.

I have issues now and then where I'll end a call but the sync gets stuck on phone mode, and the MP3 player is frozen until I turn the car off and restart.

If you turn the radio pwr off then on, is it still frozen?

Everything else works, AM/FM, Sirius, CD player, just not the MP3 player.

Sounds like its the mp3 thats hanging. What type of mp3 are you using?

I use my iphone 3gs and haven't had any issues.

The SYNC system is great for me, but it has problems with the iPhone's iOS4. It can lock up your USB port, intermittently drops BT connections, flaky phone functionality when it is working...I gave up on it and just used a power stalk from the AC port.

But I agree with the others: Define "still sucks" for us, OP.

My wife's 2008 Taurus SEL has the SYNC. Until last week, she had a BlackBerry Curve phone from Sprint; it would never stay connected. We just upgraded to his-and-hers HTC Evo phones; it took her about 3 mins to get hers connected, and it works flawlessly now. Apparently the CrackBerry had a firmware upgrade that she didn't get; after the upgrade it wouldn't connect anymore.

I don't know if this helps, but Best Buy actually had a manual with a matrix listing of all the phones that would connect to SYNC. We lost ours, or I'd think of a way to scan it and put it on here. You may want to check and see if your phone is listed.

I don't even use SYNC anymore. I just dial using my iPhone. Sometimes it would take 3-4 times to call home. I'd get all kinds of names that weren't even close. I also did do the user set up and things got worse. I have even had passengers try with no luck. Just too frustrating and takes focus from driving. Otherwise everything is great with the car. Just turned 11,000 miles.

i don't have problems with that at all

i have over 200 contacts on my iphone and it seems to dial each one properly even the really complicated names

do you have your phone to call "Bob Jones on cell or home?" or do you have them listed like bobs cell, bobs home TX? or Bobs home FL?
