See my reply. This does sound like torque converter. If you don't feel it anytime except harder accelerations, it's likely. It's also possible to avoid the issue for a considerable amount of time by not accelerating hard. But eventually, it'll be a replacement need.

Don't listen to people telling you what your ears like to hear.. If you like the noise your car makes, who cares. If you don't, and think you want to change it, go for it. Make it yours, you paid for it.

To be fair, you could be completely happy just jumping in it stock and going. It will do everything you want it to, until you want to go to the track or beat every mustang on the road -which is entirely feasible.
