Car is doing weird stuff, then dropping dead.
I would agree with these fellas, on most cars that run an ECM when it drops below 9VDC the computer will shut off because the processors minmum voltage requirements is 9VDC. One thing to check easily is with a voltmeter. Red on positive black on negative. During normal idle with no...- enttim

What did he do?
Actually since it is a 5spd I would be more likely to think it was the clutch. You said you rev the engine do you smell the burning clutch smell? While doing hole shots the clutch would be slipping since it is the weak link on purpose. I would find it hard to believe that you could bust a cv...- enttim
