No the A4LD I have is not controlled by the computer. There is two versions I beleive of the A4LD, and the early ones (1988-1993) are not computer controlled and the 1994-1996 are controlled by a computer. Tom's right on the money when it comes to knowing about the transmission. I have an A4LD tranny and a 3.2 SHO I putting in a 62 Comet. Glad to find ya Tom! Robert- 26nov
