Possible Electric Problem?
just an update...if anyone cares. i have driven the car the last three days as normal, with no problems at all. the car has not stalled, and has started right up every time i have gotten in to drive. i hope i'm not jinxing myself, but it looks like replacing that cam sensor was the ticket...- Silver1995SHO

i couldn't massage the piece off...it was requiring too much effort/time so i just reached around it. is there some secret to getting that sucker off that i'm not aware of? i didn't want to crack the boots by forcing a screwdriver under them...- Silver1995SHO

Possible Electric Problem?
new cam sensor from autozone went in this morning... took the car for a normal long drive, and made some frequent stops where i turned the car off. (where the problem usually occurred) thus far the vehicle has started properly on every attempt, not logged and CEL's, nor had the tachometer die...- Silver1995SHO

well, i pulled the cam sensor tonight and i'm going to replace it in the morning... jesus my hand is sore from rubbing on one of the hose clamps. overall, it's simple...just frustrating in such a tight space. i've got my fingers crossed... i'm going to try and reset the ECU after the install...- Silver1995SHO

Possible Electric Problem?
i think i'm going to buy both parts (cam and crank sensor) to be on the safe side. both parts together are right around $100 and some change... the dealership wanted $400 alone just to replace the crank sensor (parts included), and to be truthful it's just too much for me right now.- Silver1995SHO

i checked the codes this morning, and "214" was stored. after referencing the SHOPP site, it mentions the CID sensor which is the crank sensor if i am correct. unfortunately, not something i think i am capable of replacing as i mentioned.- Silver1995SHO

i had taken the car to have the engine light diagnosed, and the mechanic said it was pointing towards the ignition module which i replaced this week... the car still throws a code, and the tach does not work on occasion...and i have a hell of a time getting the car to start back up on...- Silver1995SHO
