    Poor performance when warm...

"when it warms up" translates to; when the temp needle just barely moves from stone cold to the first line on the guage, and when the heater just starts to blow luke warm air...approx 5 min of driving @ 15 Degrees. Any bench test for the DPFE??

    Poor performance when warm...

Well, this is an ongoing issue, unfortunately. The trouble is when my 93ATX warms up, i.e. when the temp needle hits the bottom line, the car lags, bogs, stumbles, and just dosen't perform as it should. The only code I get, after clearing, running, reading, 3 times is the 332 EGR. Is there a...

Car stumbling at 2500 rpm '93 ATX

Check the contact points to/from the DIS, and to the coil, for corrosion and bad contact...I had the 216 code recently, with the above mentioned misfire, and it turned out to be an ill fitting connector at the coil. If I'm not mistaken, the cylinder balance test will show the "dead" cylinder(s)

ice chunks in the intake holes

Well...How long was it sitting like that?? How much ice??? Was it solid, or just little more than frost? Check it again when it "defrosts"...get it in a warm garage and let the ice melt. Dump the water laden oil and leave the plug off, check the amount of water in the oil....This may sound...

    94 ATX tranny problem

Sounds like my '93ATX...shortly before it didn't shift at all, and I had to get it rebuilt... :omg: Pull the pan and check for shrapnel in the screen. If you see metal, drive it right to the trans shop before you have to pay for the tow!!

    Oil Leak

Everett uh?....I remember it well...lived right by Paine Field...Anyways, if it's leaking (pouring) that much oil, I think once you, or someone with a lift, a flashlight gets under there it will be very obvious. Did the oil leak coincide with an oil change?? Maybe something as simple as an ill...

Got my codes, looking for some clarity.

If it "whining" when in normal operation, be prepared to replace it in the not so distant future. Mine "whined" for about 2 months before giving up the ghost!! There will be some noise when it primes however.

Rough idle/ missing when warm (part deaux)

OK...here are the codes... KOEO---332 KOER---332 I read this as insufficient EGR flow...is this a root cause or just a symptom?? TIA......JEBooker

Rough idle/ missing when warm (part deaux)

I haven't been able to get the codes yet...it's RAINING in Wisconsin....it's January!!!!! lol

Rough idle/ missing when warm (part deaux)

In my previous post, I stated that my 93 ATX was dropping 2 cylinders when warm...after pulling plugs, cleaning things etc...I found the problem. A bad connection at the coil. I started the car, and just began to giggle wires at random, then all of the sudden....it died completely. Where can...

    93' ATX...Dropping (2) Cylinders when warm

Soooooo...I put the DIS under the hood of my other car to keep it hot while I drove to NAPA, but indeed it "passed" the bench test. Now I need to remove the two flooded cylinder plugs, dry them out and start the beast. Speaking of which...what other cylinder should be out? I know #3?(drivers...

    93' ATX...Dropping (2) Cylinders when warm

I'm on my way to NAPA...I'm going to "pre heat" it in an already warm oven, (180deg), then keep it hot in an insulated sleeve....anything's worth a shot. If it does indeed show good, I will definately try the above mentioned test procedure, when it warms a bit...it's 17deg right now! Thanks...

    93' ATX...Dropping (2) Cylinders when warm

Tried the "cryo" treatment....no change, still missing 2 cylinders

    93' ATX...Dropping (2) Cylinders when warm

I have throughly cleaned the DIS, and used a jewelers file to shine the contact points on both the module and the connectors....to no avail. I assumed there would be a code thrown for this...or is this the Genesis of other component failures, and I'm to arrive at this point through process of...

    93' ATX...Dropping (2) Cylinders when warm

The saga continues...in my last post (stumbles/hesitates) I said there was a KOER code 217..Primary circuit failure, ignition coil #3. After the usual 5min run well until warm, then hesitate and run poorly routine, I did some more investigating. I listened closely and noted that there were two...

    93ATX Hesitates/Stumbles

What sensor/part(s)affected by engine temp, could cause this...ambient air temp is not a factor. This morning it was 8 degrees, and it ran like a throughobred with absolutely no problem throughout, regardless of the RPM/Speed/Throttle position...for about the first 4 mi/5min. When the coolant...

    93ATX Hesitates/Stumbles

Could this be DIS related? Also...I did replace computer with the D4u1, but the problem occured after 3mos of flawless driving on it.

    93ATX Hesitates/Stumbles

I "sanitized" the IAB when I had the top end apart for the valve cover seals. I also replaced the O2's around the same time. Im starting to lean toward the EGR system...any thoughts??

    93ATX Hesitates/Stumbles

As the tach "bounces" the engine RPM is also noticeably affected, or vice versa. The tach is accurately reflecting the engines performance. When you say "nostrils" do you mean, the two sets just inside the intake plenum? If so, I have cleaned them recently.
