    HID Bulb upgrade comparison

Hey everyone. I came here last summer and fall for input on my car, so I'd like to try and give a little back. I replaced my headlight bulbs with the Phillips Extreme Vision this evening. Didn't remove anything to do the job. Used angled needle nose pliers to remove the plug, and those as...

    White smoke, misfire, no CEL

Good info, thank you very much! I was wondering if there was anything else I could/ should do on my end before the flush. Appreciate it!

    White smoke, misfire, no CEL

Update again: I bought 2 bottles of shudder fix. It was immediately better. So either I caused something during removal/replacement of the air box that remedied it, or it's the torque converter. I'm very displeased about this. I had big mod plans this winter. And having the torque converter...

    White smoke, misfire, no CEL

Car has 112k on it. I saw on the vehicle history report it had been changed. In just don't remember the mileage. I'm sure hoping it's not transmission related. But at this point..... Either way I'll probably schedule a fluid change. Just in case. I can say I do wish the damn thing would throw...

    White smoke, misfire, no CEL

New update: Replaced oil seperator with Ford part number AA5Z-6A785-F. This bolted right on with no need to change valve cover. Zero improvement on issue. The car runs and drives perfectly in all scenarios, except, when normally accelerating from a stop, and I reach my target speed, and the...

10-4. Will get that done, thankfully it's nice this week, and report back. Thanks!

    White smoke, misfire, no CEL

No, I just got it back from the shop. Currently it does have the plugs in it I got from Gearhead. About 2000 miles-ish ago.

    White smoke, misfire, no CEL

Update: Shop said pcv valve and oil separator (which means valve cover as well). Quoted $1100. I brought it home, replaced pcv valve with a new Motorcraft unit, and still has a low rpm misfire while under load. I'm need to do some research on the oil separator and see what that involves...

    White smoke, misfire, no CEL

Coolant is maybe 1/2" low. Honestly not sure if it's been like that since pump/chain replacement or not. I know, shame on me. Oil level, appearance, and smell seems perfect. I will 100% post all updates here for sure. Thanks!

    White smoke, misfire, no CEL

Local shop did the timing and water pump. They seemed familiar with the job. It had not done this before. It started about 2 months or 1500 miles after I got it back. I have not pulled out the ao tune.

    White smoke, misfire, no CEL

Thanks for the input so far everyone. Little update; I took the pvc valve off and cleaned it (just to see) with no improvement. I've got an appointment to drop it off tomorrow, although I'm not optimistic as they said without a cel they won't be able to see anything about the misfire...

    White smoke, misfire, no CEL

Thanks, good info! worth a try. I still have the ones I took out of it that only have 3k miles on them.

    White smoke, misfire, no CEL

You know, I'm not sure, I'll have to look. I had some brand new ones in it from Gearhead when I did the AO.

    White smoke, misfire, no CEL

I'm a couple days in on doing searches, and can't find anything with symptoms that match. The car will billow white smoke, but it will clear up. Maybe 3-5 minutes worth. But then stops completely. Misfire- at first it was at idle, and corresponded with the white smoke. It too, would stop...

    Ethenol Analyzers

I was just using the e50 as an example. Although I am curious at what mix, if at all, does the benefit plateau. But yes, that's what I was wondering is how crucial it is to monitor the blend.

    Ethenol Analyzers

I understand the pump supplies the higher volume, but what I was assuming is let's say I get tuned for an e50 blend... It's not going to run optimum at e60 or e40, correct? That's why I was thinking an analyzer would be a good idea. Thanks for the input guys!!!

    Ethenol Analyzers

What about for a tune? Like if I'm running an e-whatever tune, won't I want to make sure my mix is there?

Great, so the lines from xdi, and then something like what ortiz sells to plumb it in?
