    Consider Pilot A/S 3 if they have your size. Others like Conti DWS which are cheaper, just not quite as responsive. Both very highly rated by purchasers at TireRack.

    40k miles, blown rear shock

    Just pulled my shocks/struts on Flex at 67K & replaced with Megan Adjustable Coilovers. All looked good. Had H & R's. did feel that fronts were softening up making springs more harsh however... but may have been my immagination. Probably a good idea to replace both rears at the same time...

    Downpipe

    I would recommend PPE downpipes as their catted ones don't throw codes and pass emissions testing. Will cost around $1,000 or less depending on whether you install or hire it done.

    2011 dead battery jump start

    My guess is that you need a new battery. EcoBoost Batteries are mid-range. Look at the eye on battery... If it isn't green... it's likely dead. Mine (2010 Flex) died last summer. If it won't charge... it needs to be replaced. Got my new one - best Motorcraft and higher AMP for around $130...

    I was fortunate to get a ride in 4DR's Flex in mid- October! Fantastic acceleration in 3rd! Unfortunately, when another EB owner (a SHO) got into the 11's first. 4DR has parted out his mods, sold the Flex and is not a CTS-V Coupe owner.

    Lowering Springs

    H & R springs lower vehicle more than Eibachs. The H & R's are tapered and therefore firmer the more they are compressed. I have them on my EB Flex and they handle & drive great! Definitely recommend. Firmer than stock but not harsh.
