    Well this happened.

Those camber alignment plates really make a big difference, by the way. And even if you are not pushing the handling of the car, getting them in and as a result being able to spec the camber will save you a good deal in tire wear, as after a number of years almost all of these cars that have...

    Well this happened.

You are in the States? Up here we have Kal Tire as a common franchise. I do not know if it is in the US. But I have over the years been to half a dozen outlets here and darn if they do not actually train their people to the point where they know what they are doing. So, should you have one...

Very good. The reply person only had a Gen 4, so I was unsure. Go to it. :) pax, smn

    Well this happened.

This all sounds really bad. It would be useful to find out for sure what is causing it. Do please keep us informed. pax, smn

I suspect you guys have posted in the wrong section. This is for Gen IIIs. Did you want this moved? pax, smn

    New Tires

Correct. M&S could be ascribed to a 3 season tire, but that is not the same as an All Weather tire which can be used in 4 seasons. I was not clear enough in my last. I was in reference to the peaks and snowflake symbol, not just the M&S letters. My error on that. pax, smn

F1 is what has made manual transmission obsolete. ;) pax, smn

    New Tires

I have not checked on Tire Rack, but if, as you indicate, they are claiming that 'all season' are year round and have a M&S symbol, they are in error. 'All Weather' does, not 'All Season'. and the 7C (~45F) number limit is, in fact, for All Season. My data comes from the Transportation...

IIRC the orange one is the correct one for our transmissions. pax, smn

    New Tires

A couple of things to add to the useful commentary just above. First, keep in mind the difference between 'all season' and 'all weather'. This is particularly important if you are north of the Mason Dixon line. 'All season' really means 3 seasons, as these tires should not be used in ambient...

No, 'bolting on' a manual is not a bolt on. Or even close. ;) pax, smn

    Max speed

When mine was new it GPS numbered at 145 on a long, straight stretch that might have been very slightly down hill, early in the morning before any wind came up. But I echo Eric's comments. What are you after, Patrick. These cars are never going to be speed demons, they just were not...

Yes, the A/C should not be hard to deal with, I just have not gotten around to it since here on Vancouver Island in Canada, A/C is really only handy for a couple of weeks a year, and even then you can just use sports car air conditioning instead (roll down the windows and drive fast :) )...

    Well this happened.

Yes, I have had RE960s. They were very good tires. I might look into the Contac Extreme Sport next time I change. There is a good deal of tread still on the Yokos, but they will age out soon. The SHO gets very little new miles these days, as I mainly drive the 911 C4S or the Jeep. For...

Glad to hear it. I have had the SHO for a couple of decades now and am no longer using it much. I am at that stage of trying to decide if I should keep it indefinitely as a backup car and maybe some day classic or just send it along to someone else that will appreciate it. Still no clue which...

    Near stall when decelarating

Excellent news. It is surprising how often the IAC causes some of these hard to track problems. pax, smn

Very true. Even without abuse, automatic transmission wear over time and distance and need to be reworked. Mine is at a bit over 200K and no slipping so far, knock on wood. :) pax, smn
