Should I upgrade brakes on my 2018 SHO — OEM premium or full performance kit?

I’m considering getting new brakes on my 2018 SHO; currently using OEM pads and rotors. I sometimes do spirited driving but mostly basic street and highway driving. Is it worth upgrading to a full performance kit (front and rear rotors, pads, and calipers) or would premium OEM/budget replacements be recommended?

OEM with the Performance package pads and call it a day. Save your money for maintenance.

From what I've seen there's little in between stock non pp and full on gt350 swap. Pp pads are the same as the pi pads, I ran them for a year and great stopping power, horrible squealing (probably brand, power stop)

R1 concepts shows promise for a good intermediate upgrade. Around $400 for drilled/slotted disc's and ceramic pads. Everything under the sun has gone wrong with my car so I've yet to try them but there's a few here that have and liked them.

Incase your spirited driving is like mine, there are very few kits that will improve or survive a shut down from 120 to 60 without warping a rotor, a couple good hot stops and it'll shake. If this is what youre trying to avoid, get good oe pp pads and change your driving habits, much cheaper, trust me.

I've used OEM pads and rotors that are listed for the Police Interceptor, which may actually be the same as PP pads and rotors. I've actually tracked my 2013 with this combo with no problems at all.

I have a PP and my rear passenger pads squeal like a motha after "spirited" driving which for me is like 85% and I have definately gone from 120 to 60 and thankfully no warping of the rotors thankfully. The heated up pads squeal is MOST annoying. I am thinking of changing mine to the R1s and their rotors for shitzsz and giggles. to be honest with all my free time passion has been curbed in the last 9 months for various reasons. I spent most of my time and money last year re-engineered a new home network lab including an expensive AI server. so resources go to the projects of most importance and my girl has been sitting idle more than should be.

I had the squeal REALLY bad, Changed mine out with 3/4 life left and went with something basic that claimed oe spec. quiet ever since. I too have been feeling the passion subside as I get pulled in other directions (not to mention the avalanche of car failures), as of late I finally got the car to reliable state with a compromise, The CEL just stays on lol. and after my tantrum a few months ago its been easier to deal with it being "imperfect" so its been easier to let the little things go, its been more enjoyable not stressing perfection and preservation of showroom condition. I have noticed the slow down this past year between my own and your posts, maybe when things settle down for both of us we can finally let the SHOs meet this year, and to keep this post about brakes, we can see if PP v nonPP matters in a stop test lol. Cheers friend (BTW, part of my separation from the forum has been 3D printing, I just added another printer and a scanner, so your project is still in que waiting on a prototype print)

I’m still around and reading, just been swamped lately. Between work, diving deep into some intense AI security training, and studying for another cert, my schedule has been packed. I've also been overhauling my home network and trying to wrap up a few car projects, which is fun but eats up whatever free time is left. I definitely still want to make that road trip happen with the bulls, though! I’m here, just lurking more than posting these days.

My car doesn't have the Performance Package, so I'm not entirely sure whether they'd fit right in.
Mine is a non-PP and I had the same concern, went down a rabbit hole looking for differences. I cant remember exactly what all I found but I ended up putting "PI" pads on my car and PP and PI allegedly use the same brake parts, mine fit with no issue. There are threads you can search on here that break down the differences, but ultimately I just compared the pads and they were the same. I honestly think its a difference of ceramic vs semi-metallic and the PP/PI cars had more ventilation. Again, not 100% on the differences but I know they fit my 13 non-pp
