UPDATE
The decided to try to push start. "Popped" the clutch and she fired right up. I shut the ignition off and tried to start again. She fired right up. So this morning I drove her to work (I put a lot of faith in the SHO). No problems so far..
So does anyone have an idea what the problem...
You know, I read somewhere that someone unplugged their CID and it started up. The guy kept it unplugged until his replacement arrived. I would like to know how feasible that is, but shucks after taken off the intake and moving the powersteering res. you might as well replace it.

IMO they are good alternatives (meaning they will work fine). BUT, why not replace them with Motorcraft OEM and not have to worry about them for many many years. The extra money you spend now will save you time, money, and question later. When I buy SHOs I immediately replace non-Motorcraft OEM...
OK you guys, I don't want to repeat previous post on this subject of SHOs not starting. But the search function on this forum does work as well as it used too. Here are my symtoms:
CAR DOES NOT START. (ran fine until I parked it overnight)
1)I'm getting spark.
2) There's fuel on my plug...
