Thanks for the response. The problem was a faulty relay control module. The dimming of the check engine light and the fuel pump not turning on pointed me to the module since the module shares power with the computer and is responsible for power to the fuel pump. Car won't start
My 92 SHO check engine light came on at idle then about 10 seconds later the car shut off. When I put the key in the run position I did not hear the fuel pump buzz (usually I hear it for a couple of seconds with the key in the run position).
