    Wow, that is exactly what happened to our cougar. It's a very bad design on Fords part. I did exactly what you did. I shoved the wire into the connector. It worked fine for 3 months and it decided to pop out at a very inconvenient time. I eventually went to the junk yard and soldered the wires...

    Glad i could help. If you don't mind laying on your floor board and looking up your brake pedal, it's very easy to replace. 5-6 minutes tops. There may be a cotter pin that you will have to remove.

    It may be your brake light switch that is located above your brake pedal. If your brake lights are not illuminating when you apply your brakes then that would be your culprit. Same thing happened to my dads 94 Cougar.

    never had the valves adjusted

    I have a 93 ATX with 172,000 miles. Never had the valves adjusted or the bearings replaced. Still idles and drives smooth with no tapping. (knock on wood).

    CEL is MIA

    I purchased this 93 SHO auto approximately a year ago. Just this week i noticed that my check engine light does not illuminate when i first turn the key to start the car. I'm thinking that the original owner may have somehow disconnected it. Does anybody have any sugestions on what to look for...

    Heater Core Replacement

    I have a 93 with 110k miles when my heater core went out. I actually found a shop that would replace it for $250. After reading other posts about heater cores i figured i did not want to tackle it myself. After i got the car back, i was totally satisfied. No rattles.
