Check your engine cover/skidplate under the engine (the one you remove when performing an oil change). Any gap from being partially unfastened will cause buffeting at speed. In my case it was the same as yours (60mph) but got severe at 70mph.
So bad that I could visibly see the hood shaking. I...
You're very welcome. FWIW, it's very good quality and mounted without issue. The kit comes with a bracket that gives you the option of mounting the ford emblem and looks very factory. I chose to leave it out.
Trans fluid has been replaced/flushed twice since new - most recently this past Summer. PTU as well.
Yes...it only happens in a left turn or curve. I did'nt notice the RPM's when it happened.
Thanks for the ideas.....I'll have the dealer take a look at the CV joints.
This has happened numerous times over the course of the last few months.
An example: stopped in an intersection waiting to make a left turn. When the time comes to turn, I accelerate hard and shortly after (split second), the car jerks badly and hesitates. Obviously dangerous if there was a...
Was getting a P0151 code, so I replaced the O2 sensor corresponding to that. Perhaps it's a placebo effect, but the car SEEMS to be driving smoother.
Total cost at a local shop I trust, was 382 bucks (about 300 US?).
Next up is to address the passenger side mirror which is not adjusting.
luigisho....YES! So true. My first visit to the dealership, I asked for a PTU and trans flush because of the info I got on this forum. Despite the "life long fluid" claims by Ford, they encouraged me to do the work and I was also fortunate that the tech was an SHO fan. He gave me similar...
Similar to all the work I had done last week.....phasers, chain, cam sprockets, water pump, etc. 4k dollars later, I'm confident the car will outlive me now, AND it drives like a new car all over again.
I'm fortunate that my dealer is on point with these things.
Interesting sidenote (for me), is that my AC is blowing way cooler and with higher volume than ever before. The lack of cooling is something I've been chasing for years now. I wonder what was corrected? Reset of the HVAC system computer? Something in the AC plumbing that was corrected when they...
All done. They did not change out the brake fluid. They stated that the brake bleeder on one of the calipers was seized and rather than introduce other issues by trying to get around it (heating it etc), they would leave it for any future brake work. I'm pretty ok with that because I know I...
