The exposed side of the throttle body didn't have an accumulation like the pipe, but I didn't inspect the other side. What is the function of the noise maker other than make noise and what noise does it make?
What indicates that I need new BOVs? I'm not sure how to tell when they go bad...
Checked the throttle body pipe and cac today. Dipstick pic is how much was in there. I lifted the drivers side up so it would pool better. I used a hand pump and didn't get much. Tempted to use my electric pump but I don't want to catch my car on fire if there's fuel in there.
Tubing pic is...
Thanks guys! The pcv looks alright as far as I can tell. But I was doing some exploring and pulled one of the hoses off the bov and noticed there was quite a bit of oil in there. Not enough to drip out, but enough to get your finger wet. Think a catch can would help this?
I religiously used chevron up until i knew it was sensing knock, now I'm experimenting with Shell and sinclair. I'll upload data logs that I have when I get to my pc. And No codes have come up and I check frequently for something that might show. No smoke or oil burning that I've noticed, but...
They were temperature NGK-LTR7IX-11. I ordered the plugs when I ordered the tuner, just didn't install them until I got the datalog files and was told my knock was heavy. I read that with a tune and colder plugs spaced at .030, I would benefit. So I got colder plugs and it didn't change...
Sorry guys! I forgot to check back into it! I didn't think I'd get much response! I'll keep up on checking in now that I know people are brainstorming!
I was curious as to what might cause a knock reading and how to narrow it down to a possible false reading. I've been running a 91 octane tune and got the datalog files which allowed me to view the knock sensors. Knock was really high, ranging from -4 to +7. I inspected the harness and the wires...
