I want to turn off the honk honk and maybe the door chime and I'd love to know what other cool things we can do without spending the rest of my life playing with codes I have zero business messing with, lol

Also can I disable tpms on a my 2012 SHO, cant get new sensor to add after trying 3 different ones, I'm done messing with it!

BTW trying to turn "honk honk" off in the 2016, 2018 and the MKS's. Not worried about it in the 2012 just the tpms issue.

Did you get your "as built" data yet? I did the double-honk on my 2016, and have notes.

    Double honk:

    726-16-01 0211 57 as built
    726-16-01 0201 47

AWD gauge: Change first 8 to B

    720-01-02 8AFC-4CF0-3F2B asbuilt
    720-01-02 BAFC-4CF0-3F5B

I have yet to do this with my 2018 - maybe this weekend now that I'm thinking about it.

I enabled the AWD thingy on my cluster. Not much to it.

Hummm so do I have to have this done with my GH tune now? Forscan doesn’t want to connect because of the custom tune it says.

Forscan should still be able to talk to the body modules through the CAN bus, even though it has no idea what the PCM has in it? I dunno. If not, return back to stock, set the body modules to whatever you want, and then reload the custom tune.

The tune does not affect the body modules. But if Forscan won't start up without identifying the PCM, returning to stock would be one way to get around that. And you wouldn't even have to start the engine. If you have a 3bar map, it won't even idle with the stock tune.

Side note: I read somewhere that tuners alter the operating system name, or version, or some other identifying mark so that their tune can't be read. This is probably why a custom tune causes this issue to begin with.

GearHead renames the OS, you can alter it back to stock but it isn't easy. The quickest way is to flash to stock, program with forscan, reflash GearHead. They rename it to attempt to protect it from being copied by other tuners. In the end copy protection only hurts the users. There's a few other tuners that also "lock" the tune this way.
I wonder if GearHead would allow you to buy an "unlocked" tune? They could still essentially watermark it by changing obscure stuff or something I'm sure.

Back on topic, forscan has the best support on the fusion, explorer and f150 sites. A lot of things are very similar.

My forscan asked for the ecm number/ tune name. I entered names/numbers from SCT-BDX until it accepted it(whatever the name/number was) and changed what I wanted. Worked fine.
My change was to see text messages and use navigation while driving :) It did remove Sirius travel ink (but I don't use that)

yea you have to revert to stock the FIRST time you create a profile in ForScan so that it can pull a read on your SWPN and PCM Strategy. After that you can load the tune and use it no problem.

There's a bunch of info about Forscan and how to program, mostly for the Fusion and F-150 but I actually try the codes for the other vehicles and some work, some don't. But I always take a pic on my phone of the stock codes so I can revert back if they don't work.

You go into the “as built” line correct? not the line below it. I’m getting old and can’t remember everything anymore. Lol and yeah of corse take a picture or download the file from Ford. I’ll just take a pic and change one thing at a time and make sure everything works.

I save the as built on the laptop before I change anything. Then modify the line. If anything goes weird I reload the stock as built file that I saved.

So, what CAN you do with Forscan, assuming the car is a stock, 2016, non-PP with Driver Assist? So far, I have heard:

    Disable door chime
Disable double honk for key missing
Disable the nanny that prevents you from entering nav info on the move
Add the AWD info to the dash
    Enable PP steering software (?)

What else? I know that you CANNOT add individual tire TPMS (which would be nice, I never understood why you would have a system that tells you that a tire is low but not actually tell you which tire) … someone had something about adding gear info to the left side cluster? And something about adding maps to the right side display, instead of the compass … does anyone have a pic of that? Seems neat, but also seems … small.

    Thanks!

You can change how many times your blinker blinks on the lane change options as well, off the top of my head.

The only thing that really intrigues me so far is the PP steering … is the feel that different? That, and maybe the AWD and gear info .. will it do both?

I have the gear indicator (Brad wrote it into my tune), it is pretty cool. I can't tell you the difference between the PP and non PP steering because I have only owned a PP and cannot compare.

I did the AWD gauge and guess what I never look at! It's cool for about the first couple days then.... no big deal, doesn't really help anything. It's obvious info, the more you floor it, the more the solid blue color starts to move towards back 2 axles...

Best FORScan mods (in my opinion):

    Tap-blinker set to 5 blinks.
DRL settings (turns + fogs for me).
Remove unused audio inputs (like Sirius).
AWD gauge and Engine Hours just because you can.
If on Sync2, enbabling EQ presets (specifically 'Pop') made my audio sound better (to me).
If on Sync2 with no Nav, you can add Nav (though a few other steps are required).
If on Sync2 and want to upgrade to Sync3, FORScan is a must. Glad I did this mod.
If on Sync3, enable climate control on the screen (if your hardware allows).

I believe the gear indicator requires a tune for some reason, like it's a flag in the PCM. I plan on getting a tune anyway, but I would like to have the gear indicator.
