I can not for the life of me locate the "shorter" torque strut. I bought the SSM torque struts, and replaced the one long one that is almost in the center of the cradle, but I seriously can NOT find the other shorter torque strut.

Where the F is it? Or does the 2018 not have the shorter one?

I went all over the engine and transaxle, from above and below, and can not find that shorter torque strut.

I'm going to have to go underneath again and take pictures. I'm 99.999999% sure that the front short one is just not there. There aren't ears on the subframe for it either.

It does say in the manual IF APPLICABLE, whatever that means.

Best guess is check any dealer site with VIN to see if they both show up.

I swear, if it was where that picture shows it, attached to the front bottom of the transaxle, which is where I thought it was, it's not there. I remember at the very least, my 2013 I think, I used to hit my head on it when I changed the oil ;)

I tried looking at work today, but only from the top, and did not see a damn thing where it should be.

    But... HOLY THROTTLE RESPONSE! ;)

Not a lot of vibration noticeable, and really only when the engine is stone cold. After it warms up, I can't feel anything. There is a little more noise when getting into the throttle, but it really sounds more like exhaust than anything bad.

    OK, so parts.ford.com, put in vin - 1FAHP2KT7JG118112 is my 2018 - 1FAHP2KT3GG100294 was my 2016

Get this diagram: Nothing. Looked all through everything I could find with anything to do with "mount". 6068 is a "Housing". Check my 2016's VIN get the second diagram - LMFAO (I couldn't get a larger view of that image for 2016) - note the cutoff dates - Usage: 06/15/2009 - 06/27/2017, Taurus, 3.5L DOHC T/C V6 Gas

Interesting... The one I removed looks the same as the other ones I've seen. Maybe not. It's still a mushy piece of doo-doo ;)

You know, it makes me wonder if using the newer style rear "roll restrictor" in pre-2018 cars would reduce the "roll" without having to resort to custom made poly struts.

I'm very in-tune with my vehicles, and I couldn't tell any difference between the 2013/2016 and the 2018, so that single mount has to be stiffer. I'll have to take a good look at the one I removed...

By the way, more on this... the roll restrictor I removed has the part # GB53-6P082-AA - that "G" means 2016. So what the heck? Did they use this in an Explorer first? Police Interceptor? Can anyone else verify what a 2016 calls for?

My 2016 didn't feel any different than my 2013, and my 2016 had both roll restrictors. And my 2018 didn't feel any different either.

Per my car's vin (16 p.p.) the roll restrictor rear is AA5Z-6068-a (spn) the engineering part number is AA53-6P082-AC or AD

That kind of looks like the part that this lady upgraded on her GT350
