A couple days ago I noticed a bit of variable static in my Sirius radio. I chalked it up to poor reception. Today I had the same static that progressively got worse over a couple minutes until it was pure static; you could barely hear the music playing. The static noise responds to the volume (it gets quieter/louder when I turn the volume knob). The static is present in all inputs (fm, sirrius, Bluetooth). Finally the lower left quadrant on my main screen went blank where the entertainment info resides. Any ideas as to what is wrong? Should I throw in the towel and upgrade to newest sync? Thanks in adavance!

Pull a battery cable, let sit for a half hour, reconnect and retest ;)

If it returns, it's not just a computer bug, it's a real hardware issue. Who knows, could be a loose plug.

Just to update on the solution: relaxed APIM and the issue persisted. Had to replace the Audio Control Module, which is the box directly below the screen/apim. I tried all other options such as fuse pulling and keyfob operations but had to resort to the replacement. From what I understand it is a common issue with Ford audio systems.

    Replace, not relax. ‍♂️

    Proofreading is not a sin.
