Yep, def sad. Having a few of the Shelby Dodge cars myself, and my mom had an 87 Shelby Charger GLHS #0041 that she bought new when I was 9. That was the car that made me really pay attention to cars.

Adios, Shel. You didn't do half bad for a Texas chicken rancher.

He was a hell of a racer, car builder, and businessman, but here's his true legacy: http://www.cscf.org/

I foresee real Shelby cars selling well next week in Indy.....can't wait to drive some pieces of his enduring legacy.

RIP Carroll, as enthusiasts we will always remember you.

A man who changed the world, and all of it on borrowed time and a borrowed heart. RIP.

Sad loss to the automotive world. Rest in peace, sir, rest in peace.

Has anything come out on the cause of death? Would be interested to hear how and if him being the oldest living survivor of a heart transplant will provide any valuaable insight to doctors.

I have heard in his later years he was always taking some one to court fighting over anything that had his name on it, even toys and models. Thats how he made his real money.
