    Hello
I have a 2014 non PP and it has a braking shudder problem in the front RH side at high speeds. Could this be a bad caliper, maybe only one piston is working? At regular speed braking has no issues and there is no pulsing in the brake peddle at any speed. The rotors and pads have been replaced as I thought that it might be the problem. Also could a bad tie rod end cause this as well?

    Thank for any help

Stock non pp pads feel like that at high speed braking. May be a warped rotor, upgrade to yellow stuff brake pads and r1 concept rotors. Cheap rotors but feel the same as the wilwood setup i had.

Had this same problem on my 2014 SEL, ended up finding that the caliper pins were barely sliding and one was actually rust welded stuck. If you have new rotors and pads that’s what I would take a look at. I just replaced the pins and made sure there was enough lube for them to slide, braked smooth as silk after

It may be slide pin or wheel balancing. Id swap wheels first to see if it follows to the other side. I had a front wheel over torqued and it caused similar issues. Pushed the rotor into the back pad and caused it to warp very quickly.

When you brake, does it pull your car to the right or left or does it just shudder?

No it doesn't pull either direction and I put on new ceramic pads and rotors. I changed the old ones out because I thought it might be a warped rotor but there was no change. I had the tires balanced and rotated and this did not change the shudder when braking at high speeds. If i am going over 70mph and I hit the brake pedal this is when the shudder happens but oddly not all of the time.

I have experienced this before after I installed new pads and rotors. I thought I had seated the pads well after installing, but I just kept doing some high speed hard braking until it went away ha

I'm 30 yrs in the brake aftermarket and work for an OE supplier.

Sounds like warped rotors. Had the same issue with my 2015 SHO ---- a jutter from the front end under heavy decel (ie coming off the highway exit ramps), and the car only had 15K miles on it. I know with the PP, the rotors are a two part casting and the metallugy is crap. Also, as weight savings the rotor run out/minimum thickness is somewhat close to the original thickness. A couple of thousands of wear on the rotor, and your going to get close to that number. I went with a high carbon rotor (good heat management), slotted and the jutter was gone. Discouraged drilled rotors ---- sounds like a good idea and looks cool, but few manufacturers get that right and it could crack the casting between the holes. Just replacing the friction material will not solve the problem; it will come back. EBC pads are good and might increase coefficient to shorter stopping distances, but the warpage will still be apparent. The OE formulation was a ceramic pad, try to stay in that world.

One other item ---- If it were a hydraulic issue, you would be getting ABS-like feedback in the brake pedal. A lack of fluid going to one of the calipers or a caliper malfunction would activate that system.

Or it could be pad material build up on the disk. You can try cleaning it up by hand, or take it out and get a little frisky with the brakes to see it you can get it to go away that way. Either way has worked for me in the past
