St. Cloud? Yikes! I figured Twin Cities. Guess I'll fly if I wind up making this one. What else is there to do in St. Cloud? I guess most of us will wind up in the parking lot most of the time anyway.

Our family plan here is to leave Sat. early and go to Road America for the Vintage races. Stay in SHOboygan for the night then finish the trip Sunday. Stopping at the Dells for waterparks and Go Karts on the way home for Friday and Sat.

    yeah,

you can head up here whenever on the weekend before and camp out at Hacienda Del That Guy and I'll check in on the nearest hotel I can get the corporate rate on tomorrow and get a greenlight from my corporate overlords.

Not 100% sure if I'm gonna be up in St. Cloud all week or what, but I guess if I can get a room near St. Cloud for sub $50 and split it with at least one person that's not bad $$$ at all for monday night check in and friday morning check out?.

Someone wanna give me the quick and dirty on cost for me to come to the events assuming I do NOT plan on entering any of the events or getting my ass handed to me by Porter on the golf course (was thinking car show, banquet, spectating/possibly riding along at track day and restaurant meet up beginning of the week). I'd obviously need to wear the appropriate attire and buy a new lid for track day if I do a ride along (good helmet expired last spring).

I'm expecting around $100-150 for Convention related stuff, plus beer money, and motel expenses.

    ALSO:

to others that are thinking of trying to make it from the midwest but are worried about the cost of a room, please PM me as I have a corporate lodging direct bill membership, and assuming i know you or someone willl vouch for you and I trust you enough not to trash the room, I may be able to help by booking an extra double room at my companies corporate rate (I usually stay at best westerns for less than $50 a night) as far as I know, I can only book 2 rooms at one time, so for now Me and Liberty are taking one room, and depending on need 2-4ppl could crash in the other on the beds and the floor if need be.

Tim Tiemeyer I'm looking at you.

:dribble::thankyou::salute:bear with me guys, right now SHO conventions are still mythic to me.

I live about 1 mile away from that hotel! Is there going to be an award given for person who traveled the least? :)

What's there to do in Saint Cloud? Well, there's a lot of restaurants. There's a shopping mall. There's a theater. There's a skateboarding park. In other words, its a pretty boring town. BUT, there's a lot of country roads outside of town that are scenic and offer some fun driving experiences.

There's some great bars downtown - the Red Carpet is probably the best known bar in town. Its about 2 blocks from the host hotel. In other words, within stumblin' distance.

So you were gonna drive if it was in the "Twin Cities"? St. Cloud is only about an hour further, that's too far? St. Cloud is near 1 1/2 hrs. from the airport.

That was the plan but our house sale fell through.

Forgot to add that the world's oldest Ford dealership is in St. Cloud! They have a huge lot and it would be a great photo-op! www.tenvoordeford.com
