Thought you guys might like to see some photos from my recent brake replacement/upgrade project. Got some R1 concepts geomet rotors and powerstop z37 top cop pads for both the fronts and rears. Decided now was a good time to paint the calipers and brackets.

Used duplicolor high temp primer and clear and duplicolor paintshop sublime green pearl for the color coat, might not be some peoples color choice but I wanted something that would stand out.

Decided to use a grinding stone for a smooth finish on the caliper, trying to grind out all the casting dimples and such.

Finishing up the clean up with some sanding drums and wire wheel, fairly smooth now.

Put the rotors on, mostly to get them out of the way since painting was going to take a little bit with how spastic Michigan weather wanted to be this past week but looking good so far.

Putting primer on the brackets, went up to the hardware store and got a bunch of rubber corks to plug the holes with, saved me a ton of time versus taping everything up.

Caliper brackets all finished up, on to the calipers themselves.

Thought I had a photo of primer on the calipers, so...magically right to color!

Added some decals to the calipers and then shot it with clear to seal them in.

This is what I get for rushing the rear calipers, but my buddy wanted to help me put everything back together a day earlier then I planned. Tried putting the decals on too soon, and that stupid sticky paper they put them on tore the paint. No big deal, some 2000 grit and some primer got me right back on track, and as it turns out, it decided to sprinkle ALL day so we had to wait a couple days for reassembly :smash:.

    All better.

I'll get you guys a photo of the finished product as soon as I can, we just finished and I want to clean up the car first, a week on jackstands and the birds just saw that as target of opportunity.
