I was taking off a bolt in the fender to put the hood strut relocation kit on my car and the piece with the threads fell off. It then did the same thing on the other side! :madflame: Now it doesn't have any threads to put the bolts back in with. When I tried to retrieve it, it looked like that part of the fender is pretty much sealed off. I just want to find out if there is anyway to get it out of there so I don't take off the fenders for nothing.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but I'm assuming you broke the head off the bolt?
Unless it's above the area where your plastic splash guard is inside your fender well, you're pretty much screwed. If it is above that, there are a few tabs and small bolts you remove to loosen the splash guard. You probably don't need to take it all the way out, just shake it and if the piece is laying on top, it should fall to the ground.
Now just take one of the good bolts up to Home Depot and hope they have the same ones in stock. :)

No, I did not break the bolts. It's the part that the bolt threads into that's seperate from the fender. It looks like the only way to get to them is to take the fenders off, not really what I wanted to do.

Your talking about the clips that the bolts go into... correct. One bolt missing isn't gonna be the end of the world. If I was you I wouldn't even worry about it :thumb:

If it's what I'm thinking of it's a clip with threads they fall off quite easily. Can easily be obtained from the junkyard from any taurus, ranger (you can pretty much toss a rock and find one), or for that matter almost ANY 80s to early 90s ford. Very easy to find part to find. :)

Yeah but how do you get to the clip? I almost did this to Fo's car, and almost **** a brick when I thought I'd lost it in the frame rail.

Unbolt the fender pull the clip. How else would you do it?

Unless you mean the one that was dropped. In that case try and find it with a flashlight or something, and use a magnet/retreving arm.

I pulled the splash shield to look at the frame rails, and there didn't look to be any way to access inside the rails from underneath. It there a way to access if you remove the fender? There was nothing that I immediately saw, but I've never removed a Taurus fender before.

I got to see a SHO with the fender off last weekend. It's retreivable, but you'd have to remove the fender to get it.
