Okay so I have a question for anyone welling to help, I have this noise and it sounds like it's coming from the drivers side door area maybe the rocker molding sounds like somethings rolling around in there, maybe a rock ? Not sure but was wondering if any of you have ever heard that sound and if I can remove the molding w.o damaging it ? Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
I have the same. Sounds like something rolling from the front of the door to back under hard acceleration, and back to the front under hard braking? I usually forget about it by the time I get home, so have not removed the door panel, but will have to eventually.
Yes exactly, so damn annoying i was going to remove the rocker molding but was told it was a one time use item and I'd have to replace it with a new one Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
I had the same sound coming from the passenger side. Sounds like a socket rolling back and forth from inside either the front or rear door. Then one day I thought I heard a sloshing sound when I closed the rear door. At the bottom of the doors are 2 drain holes and somehow on my doors the drains were plugged up with dirt etc. There is a rubber molding that covers the drains when the doors are closed and that may have helped to plug them up. I opened the drains on all doors and after the water came pouring out I have not heard the rolling sound since.
My car has not been in rain/water in a few years (it's garaged and I work from home), so water is not a factor. The sound I hear makes me think that whatever it is is spherical as it doesn't bounce/skip but rolls smoothly.
Doesn't the seat belt mechanism have a ball in it to lock the seatbelt on hard braking? Or does it sound like it travels a foot or so?
I removed the rocker panel trim/cover once and although I was very careful, had to replace some clips. Start with the door as suggested, maybe you find someone's marbles in there.
