So I have a noise in the front suspension of my 2015. The noise sounded like strut mounts going/gone bad so I replaced them only to discover said noise was still there. I've since replaced the sway bar links as well and had the entire front end checked over by 3 different people only to be stumped. It's more prominent at very low speeds while going slowly through a rough parking lot or down an unpaved road. When going at highway speeds you hear it when hitting a bump which is what led me to believe it was the strut mounts. I need some help with this one.

Side note: I did discover a TSB about the front axles. Clicking, popping, or a "tinging" type noise from the front end. I'm not sure if this is related, but the TSB said to replace both front axles which I'm going to do in the next week.

We checked that and everything else. The TSB my buddy found mentioned something about the "thrust washer" goes bad and to replace both front axles because of it.

I just found this. It's not the thrust washer that goes bad. The TSB says to install a thrust washer.

I’ve installed both washers, it’s really only if you get the pop /ting when going into drive/reverse after parked. The older version is metal the new one is plastic.
They are the same part number so you don’t know which your getting.
I’d did not fix the low speed clunk.
I’m with doit221 thinking it’s the lower control arm,ball joint , bushings.

I'm following this thread. I have a very similar noise in my 2013 MKS Ecoboost. Like you, I've replaced the anti-sway bar end links front and rear (twice in the front), driver's side lower control arm with ball joint due to a leaking hydraulic mount, lubed the anti-sway bar bushings, checked for looseness, replaced the front brake pads and rotors (in case an anti-rattle spring was mal-formed) and replaced both front strut plates, inspecting the struts while I had them apart to makes sure they didn't compress or rebound easily. I'm also tried driving around without the lower pan installed (the plastic pan that gets removed to change oil). The noise hasn't changed. It still sounds like something is lose up front. And based on speed bumps in my work's parking lot, it's definitely related to the front suspension, and seems to be most noticeable upon rebound of the suspension. My MKS has the adjustable suspension and the noise doesn't seem to change with setting, Comfort, Normal, and Sport all seem to have the same noise. I read the TSB and have the thrust washers in my possession but haven't installed them yet since the TSB does seem to address the type of noise I have.

I'm going to purchase new front axles and the thrust washers (they have to come from Ford). I'm having my for dealer look at first. They have a front end guy who's worked there 35 years. I've exhausted every other option at this point.

Has anyone of you tried upgrading your suspension with H&R springs? I'm interested in it, but I'm not sure about the ride quality. My shocks, by the way, are blown. So far, I'm considering Bilstein shocks from 4wheelonline. What, in your opinion, is a better combination with this brand of springs?

H&R seems to be the way everyone goes. If you are looking for a cheap drop in height then you could always cut your OEM springs.

To further this thread, I finally think I've discovered the noise in the front suspension. After countless people and lots of time spent looking at the car, I'm almost positive the noise is the inner tie rods. They will be replaced this weekend, so I'll update then, but this has been a process to say the least. I just hope it's not the entire rack that needs to be replaced. No issues other than that at this time.

What did you find out? Did replacing the inner tie rods take care of your noise? I have the exact same noise you are referring too.
