Welcome. Don't recognize the username at first glance, although it somehow seems very familiar from my foggy not so wayback machine memory.

    Beth,

Thank you for all the hard work and personal time and money you invested in this community. If it wasn't for what you did here, I probably wouldn't still own one of these cars.
It's bittersweet to see you give up the reigns, but family and self are most important. Hopefully you will log in and post more often now that you don't feel bad for not being available for whatever stuff is happening here.

You done good lady... so please visit whenever you have the time!!

    Beth,

Speaking as someone who's known you from BEFORE SHOforum, and witnessing your passion for this particular brand of vehicle, the people who love them and the community that's grown from this passion, let me say that it's been a helluva ride. I know SHOForum was always a labor of love, and to this day, whenever I visit another car forum, it's THIS forum to which I compare them all to. ALL of them. That's a testament to heart and soul you invested here, and that's not such a bad legacy to pass on.

SHOforum endures, and you will endure as well. Times get rough, times get better. It's the journey and the connections and camaraderie that matter, and how we hold ourselves through it all to grow, or learn, or to simply just experience it.

The end of an era? Perhaps. But it's a legacy to be very, very proud of. I for one am grateful and humbled to have been a part of it all with you. :salute:

Thanks all, and thanks Chris. That was beautifully said, and speaks much of how I feel about this forum and the community that it was built around.

    Beth,

I can't say it as well as Chris, but thank you for all you have done. I'm sure we will still be seeing you around :)

    Richard,

    Beth,

Even though I don't know you personally, I have nothing but respect for you. You kept this forum up and running even in times of personal upheaval and that takes a person with a lot of dedication to the cause. I hope the future brings you happiness and contentment.

I dint come round these parts much anymore, but dammit after being here for 12 years this place is more than just about cars. You've created an honest-to-God community here. I've been involved in dozens of online car forums, both regional and international, and I've never seen a group of people as tight knit as we are here. I am and always will be proud to be a member of this place, and forever grateful to you for for keeping this place going for as long as you did. To the new guy...you got some mighty big shoes to fill. I hope you're up to the challenge.

    Thank you.

Beth, sometimes life comes at you hard, and you gotta sit and ask yourself "Why me?". I've worked with people that have lost motivation. Often it happens after working with computers for awhile, or running an internet-based business. In my experience, loss of motivation can happen when you don't experience face-to-face gratitude and appreciation.

We appreciate you, we really do. But I know that reading these words is not the same as looking you in the eyes and shaking your hand. Know that if we could, we would all be in the same room applauding you. For now, go ahead and take it easy for awhile. Let yourself feel proud for what you have done for all of us.

    Thank you.

So the forum is now owned by someone who is new and by someone we don't know....yet there were quite a few offers made not long ago to take over this place by some long time, established members. Not sure how I feel about that.

I sort of recognize the name from the SHO world so not sure if he/she is really new. I see the post count, but I swear I've seen that screen name around.

Just not a fan of how that kind of went down, that's all. The LAST thing I want to do is see this place turn in to what another Taurus Based Forum turned in to after it's ownership changed hands.

Sam, the way the other forum handover you're speaking of went down was way, waaaay underhanded. Beth handing the reins over to someone mostly unknown to us (versus selling to a business whose primary interest in buying the site was it's ability to generate revenue) is a far cry from that.

I suppose time will ultimately tell, I suppose.

Perhaps. But I would at least think you could see my concern. Let's hope it works for the best. And as always, I'm willing to lend a hand in any way possible.

I understand the concern. Bizzy is an amazing person, and I have a big shoes to fill. I appreciate the offers of help and will take you up on it.

The first move will be some downtime as we transfer servers. It could be up to 48 hours but likely less. I am going to lock things up in the next 24 hours.

    Stay tuned...more to come.

Beth, without you or the forum, I never would have rebuilt my car or participated in what amounts to one of the best communities I've seen on the WWW. Good luck on whatever adventures you go on, and my prayers will be with you.
