Went to the track today and the air was crazy. I think this is a world record unless someone can provide a time slip to debunk it. See below.

Thanks guys. Updated post with real time slip to make it official. For the record, it was between 600 and 200 feet below sea level here today. The temps were in the 60's. I would love to get this altitude in the 50's though.

How does your altitude change by 400' daily? you on an airplane? :nut:

That's the equivalent altitude based on density using barometric pressure and temperature. Yes the altitude on ground changes minute to minute. Thats why it's hard to breath when it's hot and humid but easy with low humidity and low air temperature.

Great Time Amigo........

And to think, the tuning has only started.

I am especially pleased to see someone, well actually several posters here, use the Brick platform as a high performance vehicle.

After I got my SHO, my wife's Mountaineer came off lease and I really, really put the full court press on her to switch to a Brick. Sadly, after two Navigators and the Mountaineer, she is a confirmed full size SUV driver and I ended up buying it off the lease since the residual was ridiculously low.

For me personally, it is a lot of fun to watch the postings of both the GEN 4 SHO owners and the Brick owners go through the trials and tribulations of finding tunes, exhaust systems and CAI systems for a new vehicle. And...I am sure it won't stop there.

It reminds me of the 1999-2000 period when I owned a 99 Lightning and everyone was trying to get better performance, 1/4 mile times and road race times out of those first supercharged Lightnings. In the end, it all got sorted out and that was one **** of a performance truck for whatever type of competition one might have wanted. And, it still performed as a truck just as the GEN 4 SHO will perform as a near luxury car and the Brick will perform as a modern day Station Wagon.

Sadly, at our age, Mods are a thing of the past and both vehicles will be our last ones and will remain bone stock. I will have to live vicariously the "Tuning Wars" on this Forum in the future.

Keep on "Bricking"...........

Great post Bill. The Flex absolutely reminds me of my 2000 Ford Lightning I owned till 2003. It went 13.37 with a tune and CAI just like the Flex but the Flex out weighs it by 400 lbs. That's why I love the Flex. I don't think of it as a station wagon since it has a class three receiver and tows 4500 lbs. It reminds me more of a miniature Excursion given the 5000 lb size of the Flex.

And it is more nimble than you realize, considering what it is (or isn't). Great run, and congrats! I am having a blast with my +60whp tune and Airaid, especially on the 45 mile drive through the hills to my favorite deer hunting spot at 4:30 in the morning. I just need to get over my fear of something going awry, like afr future problems or issues related to increasing the manifold air pressure, or the increased shift firmness.

Torrie has something up his sleeve that may put it in the 12's. Now that would be crazy.

who me?...............nothing nothing at all. Just a taurus.

I hate how its 13.4@ 101. TQ and AWD...FTW

Nice times. I like the EB flex alot and if I had a family and needed the room. The flex would be my choice of carrying the fam and stuff around........and at the same time whooping on camaros, stangs, challenger's,ect. :)

There are plenty in Canada and here but I haven't heard of any outside of those. As for why I got a Flex, I am 46 and have only a 17 yr old still at home. I got it for towing my Custom Bike on long trips and carrying the gear to the drag strip.. even though lately I have been dragging the Flex instead. My awning for the track fits in the Flex easily. It's also great for tail gate parties since the rear seats fold over backwards. I also had an Excursion when I didn't really need it for family use either. I gues I just like the retro shape. The looks on peoples faces when they see it pull to the line and then their mouths hanging open when it crosses the line in mid 13's is priceless.

I'm sure there is more left on the table. Lighter wheels, stickier tires. The front wheels were spinning slightly off the line before it hooked up and hauled ass. I wish more power could be routed to the rears as soon as the hammer drops. This was with traction control on. Taking TC off kills the 60ft.
