I'm going to install a JBL self-powered sub and want to know if there are any sources for the power in the trunk area. I'm assuming the single speaker in the rear deck is the stock sub and a good source for the speaker signal. Then I need to run the sub remote gain adjuster to somewhere convenient to adjust while driving.

    Thanks for any input

Not that I'm aware of. And running a power wire through the firewall is a PITA. There are several posts about it in this forum. I highly recommend running a 4 gauge or larger if your system comes with a smaller one. I ended up upgrading my all-in-one and had to pull another wire through the firewall.

I spliced into the power wire from the trunk light to use as a power turn on signal for my amplifiers, but I would only power a subwoofer with a fused direct power wire ran from the battery.
If you pull the front left wheel and the wheel well liner it's not too hard to run a power wire through there, and I found a rubber grommet I could remove to run the power wire through the firewall.
I connected the ground wire to one of the bolts for the backseat seatbelts.
If your powered sub has speaker level inputs you can splice into the 6x9s in the rear deck, but I wouldn't use the tiny rear center speaker.
