While cleaning my IAC today. A thought came to my head from reading different threads touching on the plausibly of turbo/super-charging/ swapping drivetrain/ the 3rd gen show and reality of not with the ultra limited availability of high performance suppliers.

What probability is there to create/obtain any combination below to create a NA BEAST.

    1. pair of aggressively lobbed camshafts
    2. hardened valve train
    3. milling/ port polish of the cylinder heads?
    4. Porting polishing of the intake manifold?
    5. Built bottom end
    6. Upgraded performance header

My objective is to create a better balanced, even quicker revving engine with better high end kick reminiscent of its motor cycle heritage. Would a 8-8500RPM redline be possible? 11.0 compression ratio.

What could I realistically expect to gain from something as a simple port polishing of the intake manifold and header setup to a fully built cylinder heads setup.:)

My apologies if this topic thread has already been covered

cams have to be custom made at 1k a cam from land m engines. headers have to be custom made. doug lewis wants 5 k for a built 4.1 engine. if your going to spend that kind of money go all in wih a supercharger or turbo

this is just my opinion if I'm wrong I have no issue with being corrected. the biggest limiting factor is just the size, if this thing were a little bigger it would be a total monster. the cams always seemed to me to be fairly aggressive. the bottom end looks to me like it would hold a lot more power. porting and polishing is doable.
it's hard to say what polishing everything would yield the engine will flow 420 cfm i'm unsure of where you could take that limitation the valves seem small to me.

Do you know what kind of power specs a 4.1 liter engine is pulling?

I personally never been a big fan of turbos. All motor baby lol

Perhaps porting/ polishing the Intake manifolds might be first step before taking it further. Doesn’t seem like it would cost much at a machine shop.

I have no idea how much hp a 4.1 would make. Doug Lewis hasn't built one yet
